Dowry is StreeDhan, gift given to women when she leaves paternal house:), no one else has any right on it. theologically. Brahmins
aren’t supposed to have any possession this is the reason that despite being poorest in forward castes they were always politically influential:)
But bad practice of dowry crept in Brahmins as well, they turn greedy of possession so now they do take it and sometimes brahmin families are also involved in dowry killings:(
