so almost all religions borrow from each other myths to justify what is crucial to their faiths. we have several myths in our own religion islam.
when we come to the Miraj incident, it is said that the prophet used a white winged horse named Burraq. and then i was looking at something and came across Pegasus, which ironically has the same characteristics of being white and winged. and i was wondering if the concept of Burraq has been picked up from the greek mythology.
anyone agrees with me on that?

I dont know. but i think it is not mentioned in the Quran.
so far as "authentic" ahadiths are concerned, everybody has their own version of them. and when something is disputed by so many people how can you call them authentic. in any case that is a whole new debate.
First can you answer when this came to be a myth in Islam? Never heard of Islamic mythology.

i think u must nt make fun of ahadith, it is nt essential that every thing shud b written in quran u hve 2 consult 2 different bux of ahadiths then u come 2 knw tht how many miracles happened 2 r ambiah or i will recomend u 2 read "qasas-ul-ambiah". i hope it will clear ur many misconceptins. one thing more u can't say it myth it is true & based on the lives of ambiah,however sometimes r brain doesn't agree with all these things bt in islam mojza is something. u hve 2 belive it as well.

I have read "qasasul Ambia" like when i was 8 years old. they were good stories for a kid. but now i wonder what is the evidence of all that happening? does it come from any authentic source? i dont think so.
mojza is simply something that makes your aql go "wow" or something like that. something that makes your reason "Aajiz". that might have an explanation but maybe not at the time that it happens. so I dont think some miracle might be explained. the rest are stories created by the adherents.
