But seriously, my question refers specifically to things that you did under peer pressure. When you cheated in class, that wasn’t because a friend of yours forced you too. It was exam pressure more than peer pressure.
The reason I opened this thread is because my praa recently did something he shouldn’t have. I just want to be comforted that everyone makes mistakes and we all turn out to be okay in the end as long as we don’t repeat them.
No..its the peer pressure.......everyone is doing it...you should do it too.......or you will be labelled a chicken/wussy etc etc......same is with sniffing cocaine or other things.....
As far as ur nickaa praa is concerned.... it depends on the nature of the 'shouldn't have done' thing.......anyways..... ground rules need to be communicated and it should be ensured that the kid 'understands'....not merely comply with it.....
Peer pressure..hmm. I guess I became a backbencher in class to look cool. Still scored straight A’s of course :). Used to bunk classes sometimes, we’d climb over the school wall, go out and have ourselves a fun time. Like smoking cigarettes.
I said “No” to drugs just like my teachers and the poster in the school cafeteria warned me. But then my friends said “C’mon it’s only Sudafed, everyone does it.” And I wanted to be cool…so I drank the Sudafed cough syrup. After that I became super-duper popular. Slowly, but surely…I became BOLDER…I advanced my way up to Elmer’s Glue. I used to carry the glue sticks in my pocket and whip them out and twirl em like the cowboys do with their guns. The kids…especially the losers…stared at me in awe and admiration. They wanted to be me. But alas, all good things must come to an end.
Sigh, those were the best days of my life when I was all bad and wild and dangerous.
Well I blame the bad morale and the lack of entertainment and terrible anxiety I suffered from but to be honest years ago I took my first Ciggarete becuase it somehow seemed so cool… Allah ka shukar I had the willpower to give up. It’s not the Armys fault that I smoked I think it was peer pressure and the general fashion…
