Hi Farrah , well first of all welcome to rotterdam lol
I am working for an iranian oil company , it’s a very ordinary usual job as management assistant and translator nothing very exciting about it lol , i am planning on continuing my studies in February inshallah anyway my job is at the weena building ,

So i assume you are studying at the Willem de Kooning Academy which is really great i got my admission somewhat like 5 yrs ago at the fashion designing department but thats another long story ! unfortunately didn’t follow that dream i wanted to pursue , i believe i have my admission certificate framed and hidden somewhere lol !

Don’t worry about what people may think of you or of your dutch fiance , and least do not even care or feel bothered about them ! I don’t know what you mean with people from the subcontinental area giving you dirty looks and glances because whenever you walk with your fiance who happens to be dutch and not a pakistani ? I mean i usually have a difficult time and find it hard to spot pakistani girls , expect the ones i know and have seen at social gatherings whom i know they r pakistani
LoL unless you walk in your shalwar kameez and can be spotted from a distance u are from lala musa or gujrat wala lool jkz…Most/ some of the pakistani dutch born girls look very Hindustani surinami , i am sorry if i offend any of the girls here but thats partly because of their complexion or their horrible sense for wearing clothes…
Again i dont want to offend , but if i would tell you horror stories that i have seen and heard and there are quite many of girls and some boys who are even living with gori . pakistani . black without nikah in full zinah or do things that would make even a non muslim to shame seriously you would feel shocked !

nevertheless bad and good ppl are among everyone , be it within the pakistani community here in holland or back home in pakistan , there are both open minded ppl here and ultra rigid conservative as in back home in pakistan.

You shouldn’t care what or how people judge you , only god can judge you and nobody else , but i do understand what you mean. I don;t want to share my real name on this public forum…but alhamdo i am not the hai haw kind lol i dont think i can get along with them , and again i dont want to offend any pakistanis here ,but thats the main reason why i dont really socialize or interact much with them. Some people go beyond the hai haw attitude , and the personalities just clash except a few who i know for quite some time !

Dil Pakistan , well honestly our floor is very basic , the view is good and the location is very close to all the main shops lol nothing posh or fancy except big rooms and i work only with 3 other colleagues in our big floor. nothing wah jee wah about it i guess ...atleast i think

But houthof buruma the upper floors look very sleek and stylish.... :D oh and we have a prayer room too ...with wonderfull view :)

lol i really find the pakistanis in the hague different then the pakistanis in rotterdam lol

You can see some difference : pakistanis from adam , pakistani from the hague are more coolie /surinami type loool and very loud , the coolest are from rotterdam !

ok nice nice ... waisay although yahan roza rakhna ziada mushkil kaam hai ... but i have to admit k yahan roza rakhnay ka maza b alag hai ... i feel more passionate about it ... ghar per to sab rakhtay thay aur mama utha deti thein ... magr ab khud uthna perta hai ... sab kuch khud manage kerna perta hai ... and i really like it a lot .... because i am doing it because i really want to ... not because everybody else is doing it ... :)

sorry if i sound judgmental ... but there are of course fears and insecurities of going into a new society and culture, and presumptions that one has to deal with ... it takes time to adjust with your own thought process and that of the others ...
i had a hard time settling down here because i had to face quite a few problems in the beginning ... now it's fine though ... i've tried managing things as best as i could ... but it is extremely tiring, sometimes confusing, and i had times when i just wanted to leave ...
when i had just come here, i was more conscious and didnt know what to do ... overtime i have also learnt to relax with things and ignore ...
i cant really make out the difference between a paki/suriname/indian ... but when you here them speak then sometimes you can tell who is who ... so i say sub-continental ... maybe they also cant tell who i am ...
in pakistan i had no problem walking with my fiance on the roads ... because i knew exactly what people could be thinking, because i know that society inside outside ... but it's different here .... i need to understand first and then let go of my insecurities ...
and no i dont wear shalwar kameez ... although i would like to sometimes now ... because i am sooooooooooooooo tired of wearing jeans all the time ... lol ... i tried looking for some nice skirts ... but couldnt find something that i liked with an appropriate length ... but in winters it is impossible to wear them anyways ... its so freaking cold i have to wear leggings underneath jeans anyways :(

other than this boring serious talk .... you work at quite a nice location i have to say! and you have a prayer room too! is that common in offices here?

Well actually the company i am working for is an iranian state company , my colleagues are all muslim so thats why we have a prayer room , its quite exceptional :) I even have shorter days because of ramadhan LoL

Lady : Wow all the way up in groningen , i have never been there ! I am sure its a lovely place and the main city zoals ze het zeggen ''een echte studenten stad '' :D

LoL i am in rotterdam and i can say i am far awayyyyyyyy from the pakistanis living here too !
I have never heard of jaghra maghra lol ...or maybe thats because i dont really know !

Well we dont really live IN Groningen, but in that area.. Kben wel regelmatig in Groningen as my brother lives there.. Kga wel eens met vriendinnen naartoe.. Je kunt er leuk shoppen.. And yes.. Groningen is a really lovely place.. A living place.. een echte bruisende en studentenstad jah..:)
