Peels (a lot of questions)

Re: Peels (a lot of questions)

Ok.. So I did my second peel last night .. N I waited 2 weeks because I felt my skin was little dry. . So last night I kept it for like 12 mins. And it was all good...slight pinkness on nose and cheeks and it's fine today ... soo now I'll be continuing till my 1 oz ends :) then will se the results..

Re: Peels (a lot of questions)

Hey paheli I did my 3 rd peel yesterday . It went all good . But I m noticing that I m getting some white patches like whote circles on diff part s of my face
is this normal?

Re: Peels (a lot of questions)

Do the white circles/patches look anything like what’s in this picture? Did you keep the peel longer than the last time?

My immediate thought is that you need to go 2 weeks minimum between the peels. You waited 2 weeks to do peel #2](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=2) , and approx. a week with #3](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=3) (correct me if I’m wrong b/c I’m going by the dates on your last 2 posts here). The whiteness or “frosting” occurs when the peel goes too deep. This can happen for several reasons: peel too strong, you kept it on too long, your skin is extra sensitive for various reasons etc.

If your skin is extra sensitive, then the frosting will occur sooner (let’s say you kept peel on for 12 minutes and it was fine…but next time the same amount of time causes frosting b/c the skin is extra sensitive). My personal guess is that b/c you waited on about 1 week to do #3](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=3) , your skin was not fully healed from #2](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=2) and that led to the frosting (ie. your skin was still very sensitive from peel #2](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=2) ). While there is nothing wrong with frosting, it increases your healing time and increases chances of scarring if you’re not super careful (frosting indicates the chemical went deep into the skin). The deeper it goes, the whiter the skin appears.

My personal recommendation (ie. what I would do if I were in your shoes) is to wait at least 3 weeks before doing the next peel. Allow the face to heal 100% from the frosting and not take any chances. And after that, wait a minimum of 2 weeks (14 days) in between peels.

Re: Peels (a lot of questions)

Oh actually it’s not frosting.. Like when I do peel nothing happens I apply peel . Then apply baking soda and wash with water.
while peel is there on face no frosting or anything happened
its just when I woke up .i saw some whote small patches on my skin like u know uneven skin like a small circle on my left and right cheek and next to my lips..
and yes u r right about the dates

Re: Peels (a lot of questions)

White Spots on Skin – Why you get them?

Something like this in above picture
its not very noticeable but I can see

Re: Peels (a lot of questions)

Stem Cellular CC Organic Cream, Natural Stem Cellular Skincare Repair, Natural Face Moisturizers, Age Defying Natural Wrinkle Prevention

is this the on you use?
i m in my late 20’s do u think I can use this?
or do u have any other recommendations for sunscreen please

Re: Peels (a lot of questions)

  1. Not sure about the white spots. I’ve never gotten those. Maybe still wait 2 weeks to do the next week and see if it happens again?

  2. Yes, that’s the one I use (RE: Stem Cellular). Not sure what your age has to do this using this.

A physical sunscreen (zinc based) is better than chemical one in my opinion. Sunscreen’s with a high level of zinc (18% or higher) provide amazing protection. The problem is that sunscreen’s with such high level of zinc usually leave a white case. I’m near NC42 so this really causes a problem for me. If you’re really light skinned, you may not have an issue with it. This sunscreen is the only one I’ve found at a store near me (Ulta) that has such a high % of zinc and the tint takes care of the white cast. I could recommend you buy it and try it for a week. If you don’t like it for whatever reason…return and get money back.

Re: Peels (a lot of questions)

Ok so I contacted customer service and they said this patchiness can happen with darker skintone a . I m not very dark like I use bobbi brown natural tan. I have medium skin tone… I don’t know what but they said to wait and try next peel in 14 days and if still patchiness occurs i should switch to other acid.. Let’s see. They also said I should use micro polish which is good for this kind of patchiness after peel

ok I asked for age because it’s for age defying and like age related . So I was just wondering that is it I’m or one since I don’t use any specific anti aging stuff
and plus do u use foundation with this ? Or just alone?

Ill for sure check it out at ultaaa

Re: Peels (a lot of questions)

Btw can I try the peel like next week?.. I m soo planning to travel Pakistan . So I was wondering if I can keep using like weekly since my skin is not dry and I think other than patchiness my skin can handle welll? Wt do u think?

Re: Peels (a lot of questions)

I wouldn’t pay for their micro polish (again). Its really not much different than a St. Ives scrub which is much cheaper.

Nah…don’t worry about words like “age defying/anti-aging” etc. Actually, it makes sense for younger people in their 20’s to start anti-aging stuff to PREVENT or delay things like fine lines and wrinkles…rather than wait 'til you’re 40 and then you’re trying to get rid of it.

I have worn fondation over the sunscreen and haven’t had any issues. Wait 14 days since the last peel to do the next one. If you don’t get the patchiness…then you know that timing was the issue here and you always need to wait the 14 days.

If I were you, I would seriously wait 14 days between peels. You cannot rush this stuff. We’re not even sure what’s causing this patchiness at this point. I would hate for it to get worse. Your skin may not be dry but the patchiness is telling you that something is off.

Re: Peels (a lot of questions)

Ok so I went to ulta to try out juice beauty sunscreen , the shade I liked was not there I think it was desert glow.
which shade do u use?
I did not cover much like I have few spots but may be I can wear my regular foundation on top of it. It seems a little expensive but I think for organic product it’s ok.
ill be going to next store soon to try out a diff shade . And will buy it .
I was using body shop vitamin c sunscreen and don’t,like that it makes my skin so sticky

i like this juice beauty one it’s light and doesn’t make UR skin sticky …
Thanx for the reccomendation

So I have a question if I want to include it in my daily routine.
Should I use rosehip lil as moisturizer and then this and then foundation?
it seems too much ..
Do u have any suggestions for a good facewash , the one from trader joes is about to end so i need a new one.

And yes I m not doing peel until 14 days .. Will try this week Ia

Re: Peels (a lot of questions)

Why do you apply Rosehip every morning? Is your skin really that dry that it needs that moisturizer? For me, if I apply a moisturizer at night, I don’t need it in the morning (I have normal/combination skin).

I apply my vitamin c serum which is super light…let it soak in for like 10 minutes. Then sunscreen, loose power, and a little blush. Once you buy the Juice Beauty, apply it all over and see if you still need foundation. The Juice Beauty is tinted to it does a good job at evening out my skin tone. I would say try applying the Juice Beauty and that’s it. And maybe powder not top if it seems oily.

Cetaphil is a great gentle choice. In addition to that, I also have Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial Cleansar which also removes make-up.

BTW, I do not use a face wash in the morning. All I do is splash with cold water.

Re: Peels (a lot of questions)

Nope my skin is not dry at all. I’ll skip rosehip now.

well paheli. For few days I can see like I ve got more scras I don’t know , but it feels like I ve got some scras or my scars seems deeper, do u think this peel has to do anything with this?
i thought peels are supposed to help with scars. But since I have done these peels looks like I ve got more scras or may be I dint noticed them but yes I have got new scars
i m a little upset about this , cause I never had these much of scras. And recently for many moths I was acne free .. Just lil bit on forehead.
I don’t know, now I have not done any peel since 2 weeks . I was gonna do it today .. But just wanted to ask .
I hope they are not beacuse of the peel

Re: Peels (a lot of questions)

Lactic peel should not cause scarring…especially in your case since you have no even frosted and have been diligent about sunscreen. Can you post pics of these “scars”? Are they new ones? As in place where there was never a scar before? Are the scars in areas where you had the white spots?

And yes peels do help with scars, evening out skin tones etc. but you need to be patient. Can’t expect drastic difference after 2-3 light peels. And you can’t rush these things (which is why I kept saying do them at 2 weeks MINIMUM). Doing it every weeks is not going to speed things up any. I think you should hold off on the next peel for a few more days…and next time you do it…keep it on for 10 minutes.

BTW, on a side note, my skin tends to act weird/unexpected if I do any peels around my cycle (Thanks to the hormones). Not sure if this was a factor here but keep this in mind when timing them.

Re: Peels (a lot of questions)

Hmm
thnakx foe the details reply.. I cannot post a pic.but I think I got too much worried coz I ve been going out for trying out foundations and stuff so may I was getting to look my skin very close n clear lol.. But there is only a few scars which seems new but I think other one are old but they look like they ve deepened more.
no scrs are not on white patches and btw those white patches are getting ok now.
And yes u r right I’ll be doing peels like twice a week .
lets née. How this one goes.

Re: Peels (a lot of questions)

Plus I went again to try juice beauty sunscreen but it did not cover good for me.. Since I have some spots and scars . I m looking for a foundation too. So let’s see if i get something with SPF. .
Or may be I’ll just buy this and foundation .
Actually i m confused . Should I get seperate sunscreen foundation and primer.
Or a foundation with sunscreen and primer.
i think bb and cc creams do t cover enough for my skin. But I love their lightweight feel.

Re: Peels (a lot of questions)

^ Foundations do not have enough sun protection…especially when you’re doing peels. You need to get a good separate sunscreen.

Get the Juice Beauty and a BB/CC cream for daily use.

You wrote in the other thread you don’t wear make-up daily right?

Re: Peels (a lot of questions)

Yup I do t wear makeup on daily basis. Ok I’ll look into tht . And get juice beauty
