And it’s logically an airtight argument. Homosexuality is only considered immoral on religious grounds. Other than that, there really isn’t much you can argue over. There’s no third person being affected by their behavior. The argument that they can’t be good parents is a flawed one and another argument that children will follow into their footsteps is laughable. Sexual attraction is natural, people don’t willingly settle for someone they don’t feel strongly sexually attracted to. Pedophilia on the other hand is a different ballgame altogther. To compare homosexuals to pedophilics is an insult to the gay community.

I can understand why a lot of you find it hard to separate homosexuality from pedophilia. I think the reason is quite obvious.

I don’t want to bring religion here too much, but it is relevant … According to Islam people in general are subjected to influences of sexual deviation. Basically it has a position on tendency or sexual orientation and it has a position on sexual activity itself.

1. Sexual activity is purely confined to the marriage contract - there is nothing more concrete than a marriage contract to demonstrate “consent” … Some people who seduce and then claim rape can easily exploit the “consent” rule where marriages are not required. This is not to say that forced sex does not occur in marriage, this is an injustice … however on that basis forced sex can also take place in unmarried relationships as well.

2. With regards to sexual orientation the generally accepted viewpoint is that whatever people indulge in then the normal will become abhorrent to them and the irregular or deviated will become appealing … also by allowing open unrestrained access to sexual activity people become desensitised to it and seek more deviations to please their desires. So Islam encourages sexual modesty and conservativeness so as to enhance and optimise normal adult heterosexual tendencies in people.
