Why some posters in religion forum say “peace” in the beginning of their posts. Any logical reasons behind. No offence just asking

Instead of saying hi haylo, they say salam i.e. peace.

Some topics might be of a controversial nature and could lead to heated arguments. Also, we can't see the facial expressions of the members or hear the tone of their voice......so it leaves greater room to misunderstand someone's post. So "peace" could be a way of letting readers know that you don't mean to offend anyone. Also...the salam (AOA) and it's response (WS) is basically a mutual dua for peace.
Now if you're STA and you start off with the salam....then you're just trying on the diff. personalities of members until you find one that works. :p
