Re: Peace is the only Way.

all we are saying..is give peace a chance

Re: Peace is the only Way.

Peace is bad. Conflicts is good. It keeps people employed. I am for some sort of balance between Peace and Conflict. Something like tension.. if people are all in awe and happy, sooner or later they get violent and that built up pressure is not good for your health. I have known guys from Pakistan who as soon as they land in New York, the first thing they do is to get drunk for 3 weeks straight.

Everything must be taken slowly, including peace.

Re: Peace is the only Way.

Madhanee, this particular peace process has been going on too slow as it is...this needs to be sped up.
On a side note, those guys did that because there was no blonde to welcome in to US.

Fraudz re Post #2: I know you have been around way more than I have, but according to the 2 stickies, you need to add something or the Law Enforcement will take your post out. Please make sure to provide a link to your comment. Read the sticky.

Kaleem: I am still busy with SQL clustering on SAN but did the palestinians agree that it’s OK for the Israelis to keep the whole Jerusalem? Because everytime Israelis have extended the olive branch, the Palys have taken the olives eaten 'em and given the empty branch back tied with a few IEDs.

Welcome to Jerusalem

Re: Peace is the only Way.

Verizon, do you need a hand with SQL clustering on SAN? What are you using? EMC, Brocade, HP? Let me know if I can be of any assistance.

I think Jerusalem is not part of the deal. It will be discussed in the upcoming peace talks between the two sides.

Re: Peace is the only Way.

I don't want to sound like Debbie downer here but I have heard this same old rhetoric million times. Give peace a chance blah blah. There will be no peace in Middle East until USA continues its double standard policies towards Palestine. One time help of $350 million dollars for Palestine is a joke when compared to $3 billion aid Israel gets every year.

Re: Peace is the only Way.

^^ Israel gets $3Bn for not taking over the whole mid-east and USA does not have double standard policies towards Palestine.

Mods I am running out of URLs so these are my opinions based on extensive reading done on Mid-East, Poli-Sci, For-Pol, Arabic, Military Intelligence and diplomatic back channels.
If you want I will post a pic of my library in the image 4 section to prove that I am not BSing.

Kaleem, Yeah its all of the above(EMC,Brocade, MacData, and HP servers). But I am still stuck with corporate politics.
BTW I responded to your hate thread with pertinent information (links and page numbers included, just doing my due diligence).
Till Palys give up on Jerusalem cause there will be no peace, they should just take what they get and call it a day, the whole Ummah has been suffering for 60 years becasue of palys.

Re: Peace is the only Way.

Verizon, I dont think that they need to give up on Jerusalem. It can be a co-managed/co-controlled city. This is not something we as muslims should give up on. I will check out the links as soon as I finsih up talking to this guys who thinks he can put a server facing the Intenet without getting a security approval. I am about to turn that port off…I love my job.

Re: Peace is the only Way.

Kaleem, there are 15 parties in Lebanese parliament and Hizballah is the largest party there with 12 members, Hamas just won 75 seats out of 118 seats in Gaza, these are representative political parties, with overwhelming support from the people of Lebanon and Palestine. They have all the right to pull back from the negotiations just like any right-wing Israeli party (Likud) which, can easily throw this peace process away by killing more innocents.

The question is where does this peace process leads to, with no real solution.

Re: Peace is the only Way.

Kaleem re post #9 Excellent. I would love to see that, and yes it can happen that muslim quarters are controlled by Palys. But inorder to reach that palys need to prove to Ummah and Israel that they are serious about peace and will not revert to violence. This step brother Kaleem will take years, a.k.a Confidence building Measures.
Good luck chasing the spammer.

Re: Peace is the only Way.

Kaleem do you know when you and Verizon start talking all that EMC, LAN, SAN stuff…I must say, I get a little turned on..not that there is anything wrong with that.

Re: Peace is the only Way.

In all due fairness, Hamas and other freedom fighters have initiated unilateral ceasefires in the past, only to have been met by assassinations and missiles. Even now, Mahmood Abbas had gotten a pledge from the freedom fighters for a ceasefire a while back, and the only thing that has held up a formal declaration till now is Israels refusal to declare one. So its not Hamas/Hezbollah that have ‘squandered’ opportunities for the most part. At the very least, both sides are equally responsible. Israel more so, since its the aggressor and occupying power.

Re: Peace is the only Way.

Minime and Akif, point taken. I understand that both Hamas and Hezbollah have become a political entities that cannot be ignored. Maybe I should have said that lets hope that Israelis and various mulsim groups in the region do not squander this opportunity.

Akif, what you say about previous cease fire is true, however, we must give thsi ceasefire some time before the Israelis feel comfortable enough to announce the same. They have announced release of 900 prisoners and withdrawl from 4 or 5 cities (check the numbers). This is a positive step.
US is pledging $350 mill for infrastructure and poliycial reform, its not much, but its more than any other Islamic nation is willing to pony up to better the lives of their fellow brethern in need.
In my opinion both sides (Pal and Israel) know that peace is the only way. They cannot exist without peace. They must stop the bloodshed and move towards peace. If our beloved Prophet :saw: could forgive Abu Jahil, why cannot we do the same?

Re: Peace is the only Way.

Hey Debbie, if the $350 mil were the only help Palestine would get I would agree. Frankly there would be plenty more help from the World Bank, Islamic Development Fund, the EU, and every Oil producing islamic nation if it was not such a rat hole where money goes in and nothing happens.

And by the way, please remember to count the funds given to Egypt. $3bil a year is basically a giganitc bribe from the US to maintain peace.

Lastly, it is our fricken’ money. We will spend it however we wish on whomever we wish whenever we wish. In this case $350mil is a pretty nice carrot, and is certainly a gesture of goodwill. The Palestinian economy is in utter ruin because of the failed intifada, and could not absorb a larger amount anyway. If you want to blame someone, go spit on Arafats’ grave, he has led the Palestinians to this situation. Thank God some rational leadership is assuming control.

Re: Peace is the only Way.

hmm that’s about $363447.56 per person](http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2005-02/02/content_2540650.htm)

Re: Peace is the only Way.

thanks for posting that PA. We are over paying. Paly’s are not worth that much..$10 -12 max.

Re: Peace is the only Way.

$10-12 is the value of each Palestinian got killed? That proves you are a racist biggot.

Re: Peace is the only Way.

Re: post #13
I thought Hamas and Hezbollah were terrorist organizations not freedom fighters. CM can you please check the UN database (clustered ofcourse) and verify that they are still considered terrorist organizations and not freedom fighters. I hope Kofi/coffee didn't muck this one up again.

Mods: This is based on newpaper articles in NY times (1999-2005) and other publications from CIA, Brookings, AEI and RAND.
