Peace instead of Salam

Re: Peace instead of Salam

@Khalil KhaaN FaaKhta

for those of us who say ‘peace’ in lieu of Salaam, it’s NOT right for us to say that because, in Qur’aan, Allah has instructed Muslims to say salaam…it’s like an act of 'ibaadat…according to one Hadees, Muslims are encouraged to return someone’s Islamic salution with a better one. [to Assalaamo 'alaikum, say "wa’laikum 'assalaam wa raHmatullah…]

we should NOT let this salutation creep into our way of life.

@bao_bihari

No translation can replace the actual words that our beloved:saw2: used.

@Captain_Obvious

No, it’s not equivalent to saying salam in terms of reward. It’s an approximate translation.

I thought so.
