What is going on? Govt makes a peace deal, Taliban continue to attack Pakistani institutions and govt releases more Taliban, I mean WTH?

Are Swati Talibans different from Bajaur/Waziristan Taliban? Are there different groups of Taliban within Pakistani Taliban?

Re: Peace deals - Taliban's continued fight against Pakistan - Taliban released

That is basic problem. We already know that the swat taliban are just as brutal as the wazir/mehsud taliban, but thanks to this peace deal hundreds of taliban will go back to doing what they know best: killing.

Who, but the police, paramilitary, soldiers and civllians will suffer because of this?

I think the basic problem is, there is a significant proportion of the population, who is sensitive to any strict action against such groups. Government knows it and they are playing kinda double game. I think this strategy is bound to fail, but thats me. I believe the same people who whinning about these groups, will whine about gov playing in american hands, if gov sincerly goes after them. I believe deep down many pakistani people want a taste of talibanized shariah, which they supported in afghanistan. Its only after that, they will learn the lesson that it does not lead to anything they need in this world atleast.

definitely different! swati taliban exploited the local situation of lengthy court procedures etc,

wazistan etc taliban - Mehsud etc are directly working against the very basis of Pakistan itself and they are sponsored and financed by Anti Pakistan agencies and governments namely RAW/CIA , they carry out acts and before this is investigated , they come out… hey dont blame india for it, we did it and we are PAkistanis ---- painting in world look Pakistan nukes will not be in safe hands… blah blah.

they are Pakistanis… but traitors who are RAW/CIA assets mission is to destablise Pakistan and demoralise Pakistanis.

Wonder how long will it take Taliban to “exploit” the local situation of lengthy court procedures in rest of Pakistan !!!

How gullible people can be ?? You still think what happened in Swat was for getting better judiciary to work !!!

Coming back to Taliban … they have recieved a good amount of money from Pakistan government too … in happier times … to pay of Al Qaeda, as per Pakistani government sources. Now tell me they borrow money from Al Qaeda and in turn Pakistan government pays them to repay this “loan” and rest of the worls is supposed to belive that these Taliban’s have no connection with either Al Qaeda or Pakistani establishment !!!

Corps Commander of Peshawar, Lt-Gen Safdar Hussain, confirmed that the militants had initially sought Rs 170 million to return the amount borrowed from Al-Qaida.

The military commander also acknowledged having offered Rs 20 million to another Mujahideen commander, Baitullah Mehsud.
‘‘Since I had that past episode in mind, I thought may be Baitullah Mehsud too owed money to some people and, therefore, I made the offer,’’ he said.
