It is a well known fact that both Iran and KSA are behind much of (if not all ) of anti Shiaa and anti Sunni sentiments in all Muslim countries and they both promote their agenda to their followers in all the countries.
Consider a scenario, what if both KSA and Iran decide to make peace in some capacity and tone down their support for Sunni extremists and Shiaa extremists in each countries. What would be the result of it, Is it going to bring down the violence that both sects carry out against each other which takes lives of many innocent people?
I have a feeling that it probably would not help to the extent that we all hope as the extremist groups/people in each individual country who have been getting financial and other kind of support from KSA and Iran will not just give up on what they were doing as they have been getting that support for a very long time and have gotten used to of the idea of power and have developed a liking for prestige that they got from their followers. The conditions might turn even more violent in those places where these groups (after losing support $$ ) from KSA and Iran might up their extortion activities and develop more criminal wings under them to finance their operations.

Most likely, these criminal groups will turn against their former godfathers for rendering them orphan and try to find some other patronage or increase their revenue generating subversive acts as you have pointed out . Despite all this, if the current godfathers shutdown their terror sponsorships, it will be a major achievement.

In real world it won't happen as both countries are vying to wrest control of the Muslim world.
KSA is just a vassal state of the USA. They would acquire the title of footstool state when their oil runs out. For now, their relations with Iran would depend on what the masters want.
Their rulers would find it hard to keep control of the country, let alone anything else when they are disposed of when they are no more needed.

That's right, but US would come for them too once they are done with others at that time no one would be able to save them as the Islamic world would have become very weak.

Saudia being the largest and most important Islamic state that almost all the Islamic countries look up to need wise and visionary leaders like King Faisal and wiser and intellectual Saudis should be given important leadership roles in the country, not radicalized. The radical muslims with no brains only bring disaster for all.
Whenever any Muslim country is fortunate enough to have visionary, good leaders who help the muslim community emerge better and stronger through education, positive, constructive reforms which promotes harmony in the muslim communities around the world, that leader is always either assassinated or humiliated and brought down regardless of which country's leader it is. Then made to appear like the devil to the world and his own country. There are countless examples.
