Array baji I know you are a male.
BTW, forgive me for not reading your post correctly.
Aren't I right about punjabi players being more talented. I am not being regionalist here, since I myself was born and raised in Karachi, but look at all the great names from Punjab, Wasim, Waqar, Inzi, Shoaib, Afridi, and Karachi has some great talent from themselves like Miandad, Moin, Latif, Kaneria, but way fewer than Punjab.

Welcome to GS - You will be surprised to know that Sir Shahid Afridi is considered the next Vivian Richards.

I think all this Karachi Lahore thing is stupid and Punjabis being more talented than Non Punjabis is also a myth. Because as far as I know 2 of the Pakistan's Greatest Batsmen Javed Miandad & Hanif Mohammad were from Karachi.

I think Zaheer Abbas was also from karachi

I agree with guys who said to stop comparing “Karachi” a city versus “Punjab” a province, its just plain non-sense.
Good to see youngsters performing. Nice to see M Hafeez pass beyond 51 and not “run out” :k:. Keep it going guys, I’m sure we will find more gems.

Inzi sada sher ay! :k: I hope he comes back!

Welcome to Yasir Arafat Show. Great bowling figures–>5-1-12-2; and with bat, useful 70 runs. Top man. :k:

All-round show by Yasir

LAHORE,April21: An all-round performance by Yasir Arafat helped PCB Whites their unbeaten run at Gaddafi Stadium here on Monday. PCB Whites achieved their fourth straight victory by defeating PCB Blues by 71 runs with stand-in skipper Yasir leading the way. The all-rounder hammered a scintillating 70 after his team were in dire straits at 109 for five. But in the end, PCB Whites finished with a commendable total of 267 for nine.

Wicket-keeper Amin-ur-Rehman (34) helped Yasir put on 82 priceless runs for the sixth wicket after Sufian Munir had contributed 45 off 52 balls.

PCB Blues, in reply, were bundled out for 196 in 46.1overs despite a dazzling innings of 60 by Salman Qadir.

Yasir bowled a tidy spell with his brisk medium-pacers to claim two for 12 in five overs. Left-arm medium-pacer Wahab Riaz, however, was the pick of the bowlers with three for 36.

Test reject Shadab Kabir, who was initially overlooked when the list of probables was announced last week, turned up for the match along with 10 new faces but made only five runs.

Trial-Matches Conclusion:

Okay homies, here's what I've concluded from these trial matches held by PCB. I must say, we have discovered great deal of talented players(mostly Batsmen)

  • Batsmen: Faisal Athar, Sohail Idrees, Azhar Zaidi, Rao Usman, Salman Qadir, Kashif Siddique, Khaqan Arsal , Asim Kamal, Baber Naeem, Saeed bin Nasir, Salman Butt, Kamran Sajid, Atiq-uz-Zaman and Khalid Latif.

  • Bowlers: Najaf Shah, Mansoor Amjad, Shabbir Ahmed and Jaffar Nazir.

  • All-rounder: Yasir Arafat.

These players were best among 70-90 Cricketers. It's not PCB has ignored rest of the players but I think selection committe concluded down to best 19 players. Most of the players name are in the 21-Men list for the Sri Lanka Triangular Tournament. :)

Well most of the above batsmen have been around since a few years now. Players like Khaqan Arsal, Babar naeem, Saeed bin Nasir were always considered as fringe players but i doubt that they are gonna get thier chances any sooner.

Well i have been told that Faisal athar is a compact backfoot players as well as a front foot player. Thats a great sign coz almost every pakistani opener has been excellent with front foot play as a result of dead low-bounce wickets. If Faisal is one with equally good backfoot technique then we need not worry anymore about our opening problems anymore.
