Re: PCB inquiry committee video/ Pak tour under ICC Scanner/ Akmal's keeping question
One more thing..i seriously believe that our team has not been involved in match fixing…at least allegations on kamran akmal are utterly stupid…I have already said on this forum that it is beyond my imagination how the hell a keeper can preempt a catch and then chose to drop it? It is just not possible…as a keeper there is no way to tell that the next ball will be nicked and the reaction time is 1/10th of second……akmal just got into a vicious cycle where one dropped catch led to another one and then he lost his confidence…now given his nature, akmal can definitely fix the matches but unfortunately as a keeper, he wont be been able to deliver on his commitments…….i don’t know about rana..when did he try to fix the game?
But what we do know and what players have admitted is their deliberate underperformance to fulfill their own agendas…..now this is extremely serious and sad and has given a totally new twist to this whole saga…
Politicking at its best..
“Under Younis, up to eight players met to take an oath of allegiance to not play under Younis. Nothing better captures the stench of these men than this, a quasi-official act of loyalty in the ultimate cause of disloyalty”

Younger players, such as Umar Akmal and Mohammad Aamer, are being drawn in. Their talent will never fail them but their personalities will. The younger Akmal, in particular, has developed the kind of cockiness and arrogance that will make him as many enemies as he will runs. Aamer has been involved in a serious dust-up with Umar Gul, over as small a matter as a dropped catch. And the ogling of women](http://www.cricinfo.com/pakistan/content/story/460382.html) - no cricket crime, really - that Afridi refers to, is in at least one case directed at Aamer, who put down Ricky Ponting at deep fine leg in Hobart, minutes after just such a distraction. Neither Akmal nor Aamer is yet a full year into the international game.
Re: PCB inquiry committee video/ Pak tour under ICC Scanner/ Akmal's keeping question
get rid of them all. stop playing cricket for few years. get a new management and a new team.
Even upstarts behave better than some of these cricketers...
And I totally agree with Osman here:
"But the board should have been more open when it was handing out the punishments, if only to spare themselves this current headache. And they should also have sacked themselves for not being able to handle the situation. As much as it is an exposé of the rot among the players, it is also an indictment of the absolute incompetence of the PCB's top hierarchy. They failed to back any captain they selected, they appointed managers who couldn't handle situations, and in fact exacerbated them, and they let the situation fester. If players have been banned, so should Ijaz Butt, Wasim Bari, Yawar Saeed and others be told to go, to hopefully end what is among the sorriest periods in the history of this cricketing nation."
Re: PCB inquiry committee video/ Pak tour under ICC Scanner/ Akmal's keeping question
Really lamentable state of affairs... there’s no hope until our players put their egos aside and revise their motivations. The minimum criteria for inclusion in the national team should be to have a modicum of affective commitment towards the country and its people – a commitment that surpasses any other self-centred motivations to perform or forsake the game.
