PCB had planned to quash rising ‘mullaism’ within team

Re: PCB had planned to quash rising ‘mullaism’ within team

There is simply no denying that the Inzy of the past two years was increasingly distracted and comical in his showing of religion. "First of all thanks to Allah..." Is this really necessary? Are you trying to show off your religiosity? He ran the team ineptly and forced religion on people. I am not arguing the merits of religion, simply that there is no reason to shove it down people's throats. I think it was an absolute factor in this fiasco. Going out for "ijtimas" until 2AM may be spiritually better than partying until 2AM, but your body feels just as bad the next morning when you get up to play against the best athletes in the world.

Re: PCB had planned to quash rising ‘mullaism’ within team

Thats too much of a criticism.

Condemning and criticizing too much time on TABLEEGH than WC during the tour is understandable and justifiable but condemning “First of all thanks to Allah” is just flowing with the river or “behti ganga main hath dhona” as they call it

I have a question for the people who say “is it really necessary to say FIRST OF ALL THANKS TO ALLAH?”: Why do you have problem with that? We dont even notice when some other player say “Thank God” during their interview but looks like ppl either have problem with Allah (:naooz:) or bad English or Inzi or both!

Re: PCB had planned to quash rising ‘mullaism’ within team

Well said! We are so much obsessed with religion even we shout religious slogans when we play Malaysia, Bangladesh and Egypt in hockey! This is ridiculous to involve religion into play.

Re: PCB had planned to quash rising ‘mullaism’ within team

How come you guys are buying this crap from PCB? How many Mullahs we have in the team, only Inzi and Yousuf, and both of them are the reason we have won games in past 4 years, consistent batsmen for Pakistan.

How many namaz did Shoaib and Asif performed before taking those drugs?

Was Razzaq doing a Tableeg during the practice session that resulted in his injury?

Is it because of being religious that resulted in our batsmen playing useless shots?

Practice, grooming and planning is board's responsibility. If they were not praying, most likely would be in some night club or doing disco. It is board that arranges practice sessions, overseas it and make sure the players are selected on those basis. PCB before world cup, plays that "I do not want to come between captain and his team". Now "It is captain and mullah who lost us the world cup". Just think, now that they have quash "mullaism" we would be able to win next world cup? How did we perform in '03 WC and what was the reason behind it?

Re: PCB had planned to quash rising ‘mullaism’ within team

There is no chance for Pakistan to be in the next world final rounds as well! As sports are declining in this country!

Re: PCB had planned to quash rising ‘mullaism’ within team

We will have to take your word for it and other details are not necessary. But for Pakistani cricketers, it's more important to win matches than worrying about bearded v/s smooth shaved faces and how one feels over the others.

Re: Mir blasts overdose of religion in team

I miss the good old days when Imran Khan was cavorting with British women and having a nice drink with his pork chops. He also won matches too. He was larger than life and just the right personality (traits and all) for the job. Now he is a politician and has acquired religion which is also keeping with the job. Why can’t we have more people like Mr. Khan in Pakistani cricket? Why? Why?

Re: Mir blasts overdose of religion in team

Maybe the END TIME is near...I'd say go pray instead of worying about WHY? :D

Re: PCB had planned to quash rising ‘mullaism’ within team

It was because of these druggies and drunks like Imran, Pakistan team was winning matches. Drinking, women and other lewd behaviors make cricketers better focused on winning because winning results in more freedom for lewd behavior, drinking, drugs and women. It's all about incentives. Maulanas preaching brooks of honey in after life taste halwa as a temporary substitute and take their eyes off the worldly honeys. Focus, it's all about focus and rewards.

Re: PCB had planned to quash rising ‘mullaism’ within team

C'mon people, you're being a bit unfair.

What's wrong with saying thanks to Allah?

The thing that I found detestable was how religion was being forced on each and every member of the team. Religion is definitely a personal thing, and there should be no force involved, whatsoever.

What was up with the whole team making salaah during every net session? There's a mosque right next to almost all the major Pakistani stadiums. Just go and read there!

Also regarding that Saqlain post... pfft... don't waste your life like how I wasted mine... I hate it when people say that!

It's like saying, I tried everything, but you don't try because it didn't work for me.

I'm not saying we should indulge in bad deeds. But when people have done so and then say "don't do it."... it pisses me off...

Although I agree success lies in deen
