PCB bans Younis Khan, Mohd Yousuf for indefinite period

I will agree with that, but Yousuf shot himself in the foot by speaking ill of his own team during the games.

Younis was in the ODI team.

Re: PCB bans Younis Khan, Mohd Yousuf for indefinite period

im sure that mentally retarded man ejaz butt is gona take his decision back

Well i have to disagree, maybe by morning BUTT sahib forget what he has done...

LOL ya may be already he said that i didnt banned them ........than said they will be available for selection :D

Yes, that's exacly what I claimed & not only the players but the whole management & those involved behind the scenes.

If my post was not clear to you, try to read it again.

so, if I understand this correctly, Pak fans only want players they dislike to be punished? but the players they like to be let go even if the committee has proof of their indiscipline. so, the concept is to apply selective discipline?

someone mentioned only the players who revolted against the captain should be punished but instead the PCB punished the captain... well, lets see.

Malik undermined Yousuf who was captain. so he got punished. tick. Younis fought with Yousuf who was captain. so, he got punished. tick. Yousuf couldn't manage to shut his mouth when Malik was captain. so, he got punished as well. tick tick and tick. so, in a way PCB has punished all three for undermining the captain of the time. seems pretty fair to me.

and when are we going to get out of this childish mindest that EVERYTHING the PCB does is either wrong or a result of some sort of corruption? this is not corruption. this is not an Indian conspiracy. this was long overdue after the shenanigans of the past few years. I'm glad that Butt is taking action. hope he and the PCB stay strong now. because they're going to face immense pressure from fans, critics, etc to reverse the decision. and even politicians will jump into the fray now. PCB stay strong. you've done the right thing. wish the same thing had been done in the 90s... and this prima donna, superstar, player power culture would never have become as big a cancer as it is today.

I thought that Pak fans would at least to lose a match or two before begging for Yousuf and Younis to be recalled. guess they can't even wait that long.

Re: PCB bans Younis Khan, Mohd Yousuf for indefinite period

Its not about punishing players its how you do it. If there were problems in the side than the management should have taken the measures during the tour.

Why did they make Shoaib Malik captain for two T20 matches in Sharjah when they knew that he has disciplinary problems?

what difference does it makes if it's during the tour or after the tour? if it was a one-off with a player breaking a curfew or something, then you're right. it was the job of the team management to address it on tour. but this is a complex situation where seems like multiple players have been deliberately underperforming and conspiring to get their way. so, forming a committee after the tour and hearing everyone before taking action was the right way to go.

why was Yousuf made captain when he had behaved like a little prat a few years ago when Malik was made captain? why was Younis made captain when he has a history of being so flaky? why was Afridi made captain when it is well known that he has been politicking and publicly campaiging for the captaincy since Inzi's retirement?

It makes the difference. Board's credibility is ensured. Other boards like that of Australia and South Africa will not wait for the tour to end. They act right there an than.

PCB is incompetent they can not be trusted to form a committee and send these verdicts.

so, what do you suggest the PCB should have done on the tour? drop Younis and Yousuf for fighting with each other? don't you think dropping the captain and one of the senior most batsmen would have raised questions? the Aussie media would not have let that one slide.

the PCB's reputation has been shattered due to its inability to act... acting forcefully like it has done now will only rebuild the PCB's reputation.

Whatever the Butt regime has done upto date has never been anything to appreciate..except this.

This is the RIGHT decision for the future of Pakistan Cricket. Yousef publicly went on a tirade against Malik on more than one occasion as did Malik in retaliation. Younis has quit the team and the captaincy on several occasions and all 3 of these guys think they are bigger than the game.

Yousefs career was almost over anyway. As was Younis's. Malik has a year to think about his attitude and either become a better player in which case he will be able to force himself back into the team after a year, or get lost in the wilderness.

For the immediate future, the PCB should right away bring a lot of the team that played in the under-19 world cup into the teams for the test and ODI series against Australia and England...that should also include players who have played for Pakistan before like Yasir Hameed, Asim Kamal, etc.

For the 20-20 world cup...Razzaq should be the Captain. Afridi has no business leading the team until his probation period is over and he hasnt made any other mistakes by then.

For the test and ODI teams, the PCB should look for a younger player....maybe Salman Butt...maybe even someone like Fawad Alam...he seems to have a tough head on his shoulders.

Anyway, people should be happy with these decisions. Your so-called "heroes" havent done anything of note for 3-4 years and have got away with their dramas...they keep losing, keep fighting, keep embarassing the country with their nonsense attitudes and jahil behaviour...hopefully this culture now ends with this excellent action by the PCB

Re: PCB bans Younis Khan, Mohd Yousuf for indefinite period

Sorry to burst your bubble but there is no life ban on Younis or Yousuf they can play anytime for Pakistan.

agree with most of your points... except for the captaincy part.

guess Razzaq will have to do for now. but neither one of Butt and Fawad are capable of becoming captain. their spots are barely secure. first they should become sure selections and put up some performances before being considered for captaincy.

If Malik, Yousuf, Younis are banned then I guess Fawad Alam will find a consistent or probably 'permanent' place until he decides to become like one of them.

LOL .. Who are you to decide his career is over? I mean, stop making such pathetic assumptions please.

Secondly, imagine yourself as a capitain and a sialkoti(malik) playing in your team and causing fights/conflicts within team.. what would you do? Remain quiet..

Such typical comments are easy to make without putting yourself in the main position.

Khair, You'll see it for yourself, when younis/yousuf will both make a come back, perhaps that should be enough to straighten some statements made by you.

Peace:)

true... but he will still have to string together some consistently good performances. he might have gotten a bit of rough deal in terms of being in and out a lot but I still do not believe that he is the second coming of Bradman like some fans seem to.

isn't it sad though... man, as anyone who's watched this team in the 90s (as I'm sure you have) to see this is what we've been reduced to. when Wasim, Waqar, etc fought for captaincy, at least it made sense in a perverse sort of way. they were legends before their careers were even close to being over. but it is so annoying to watch these mediocre little clowns fight over captaincy like it's their birth right to lord over the team. if someone had told me that one day Afridi would be a serious candidate to become captain, I would have given up on cricket that very day to avoid further strengthening this addiction.

these players behave like Pak cricket owes them. now that they're banned and realize that they won't even make minimum wage doing anything else, they're distraught, in tears and talking about retirement, etc. yeah tough luck... should have thought of that before.

and I hope that this Umar Akmal is given a very serious talk. if he is such a sneaky little retard this early in his career, Lord knows what he will do further on his career - if he even makes it that far.

and wtf is wrong with being a Sialkoti?

besides, better being a Sialkoti than a jaahil mullah whose verbal diarrhea seems to never end.

I think the punishments are still not strict enough. These are more like threats than real verdicts. Younis and yousuf both will be back and so will Rana and Malik.

I think there should be** 'zero tolerance'** for match fixing. Life ban should be imposed.

For indiscipline acts, we should be able to gauge the fairness of the justice system... 'banned indefinitely' for something that can't be openly shared is very dictatorial and leaves the fans wondering

In this fiasco. Sarfraz idiot Nawaz has got some credibility in my eyes. He was talking about match fixing when we couldn't even doubt our T20 heroes.

Bradman? I'll be happy if he can be even half good as Inzamam (as batsman).

I agree, its really a pathetic situation that Afridi is a candidate for captain (esp for all formats). Players like Umar Akmal should be dealt really harshly, I would've been glad to have one year ban on this chhotu so he would know that he is not bigger than game as his brother might have told him. We have seen enough of injury dramay baazi (by one bowler).
