I dont know about his selection skills yet. But the most important would be his ability to take pressure and not come under the influence of different lobbies that work within PCB. Whether through money or power. And if it happens selection process is no rocket science so it may turn out a good decision though i would wait to see the results.
The VERY FIRST thing should be to get rid of Najam Sethi and Shehryar Khan, it seems everyone else is being replaced but these 2 are not going anywhere.
Any cricketer with some self-respect should not take any position unless the 2 heads are out first. Otherwise we will see Inzi as the next scapegoat as soon as we lose another big tournament.
Really unbelievable, 18 crore population's favvourite sport being held hostage by these 2 babas and nobody can do a thing.
Damn!
Jinnah's motto was work, work & work...kaam, kaam aur musalsal kaam
Inzi's motto will be tableegh, tableegh aur musalsal tableegh... just kidding
Nepotism is a human weakness (lets face it we are not angels) but if Inzi can ensure selection of (at least 80% of the) players on merit (domestic record rather than pressure from any lobby incl. sponsors), then it will be a great service to Pakistan cricket.
He should spend some time with the key batsmen in the team as well. Fragile and inconsistent batting will undoubtedly be tested in english conditions.
I also have a question on Inzamam's selection capability. When Hafeez first played for Pakistan Inzamam discarded saying he can't play for Pakistan, no technique, not good enough. But he kept improving and made comeback and has played with decent performances.

maybe he was right at the time. These things happen, Miandad asked Imran to drop Inzi when he first started playing for Pakistan because he was of the view that Inzi had no technique and was not good enough.

Well i guess he was right about Hafeez. Unless it is a flat track and ball is not swinging at all nor bowlers are of good quality, yes that is time Hafeez can be nightmare for other team, rest of the time he is now nightmare for Pakistani batting lineup

Right, so that then shows that there is a grooming/coaching problem.

but still he has managed an ODI average of 32 which is decent for an all rounder.
