The Pakistan Cricket Board have appointed specialist lawyers DLA Piper to represent captain Inzamam-ul-Haq when he faces charges at an International Cricket Council disciplinary hearing on Friday.
Inzamam faces two charges of breaching the code of conduct after his side refused to return to the field in protest at ball-tampering allegations from on-field umpires Darrell Hair and Billy Doctrove in the final Test at The Oval on Sunday.
Shahriyar Khan, the chairman of the PCB, said: “We are determined to defend these charges vigorously and we wanted to make sure that we have the best possible representation.”
Inzamam’s case will be put by, among others, Mark Gay, head of DLA Piper’s sports group.
He has previously worked for the England and Wales Cricket Board when they had issues about the team travelling to Zimbabwe during the last World Cup four years ago.

Just when *most people thought PCB won't stand up and will take the ban and whatever they do this.
Hats off to the PCB, the team and Inzi, and shame on all the guppies who were blaming PCB for everything.
I was hoping they did that and Inzi didn't get the short end of the stick because of his ineffective (arguably) communication skills.
Now we should be able to put up a good case.
Umar Talib: Imran advised them to 'sue' them in a court. They have not acted on 'Imran's Advice' here (although your statement might be true for certain other cases). IN this case, they have appointed this lawyer just to speak on Inzi's behalf in the ICC hearing.
Now about the evidence ! I was disgusted to see the alleged ‘Ball’ involved
in being ‘tampered with’ being tossed around from hand to hand in the match referee box and god knows how many more hungry hands have molested it before it can be seen by the people who are going to find the real culprits in its molestation.
This whole crap is becoming more comical by ICC than any thing else.
PCB should not only defend Inzi but also the national pride via multi million dollar law suit against ICC and its panel of umpires! The best thing is that ball tempering becomes irrelevant whether it realu took place or not.
btw, i never knew that TOURING side can ASK governing body to CHANGE THE UMPIRE if they have solid reason. This is in the cricket rule books. I was just watching the Dickie Bird's interview and he said this to my surprise.

I think no body is taking distation from any one including Imran but atleast they are following wise advise from any one including Imran. That is why they selected a Lawer to represent Inzi.
I am sure step by step approach is good. They should tackle first issue first, once they clear ball tampering allegations, once those are cleared then their protest is automatically legitimate and thus Hair wrongly used the law of cricket and cost ECB, Surrey and PCB financial loss, and unmeasureable emotional stress to whole Pakistani team, and wrongly awarded match to ENG. Thus it should lead to cancellation of match and thus results as incomplete, not even draw.
Once this is accomplished then Pakistan should use same law firm and personal to sue Hair in court for racism, biased and illegal use of law of cricket to set his scores and thus causing great deal of pain, grief and stress to whole nation of Pakistan and damaging reputation of Pakistani team.
