Paypal

How many people have a paypal account here ?

I am trying to get a general idea about Pakistanis/desis who are using paypal.

Re: Paypal

Re: Paypal

i got it for the earthquake donations.

Re: Paypal

I have a paypal account.

Re: Paypal

I used to. But then I started getting daily emails from 'Paypal' eddy that some KMM and UNTS have asked for activity on my account or tried to change password. It freaked me out. I called Paypal and asked the account be canceled. Two weeks later, I tested my acct and a transaction went through. I was furious. I called and they said they have canceled it now. I will do a test again today.

Re: Paypal

I’m having the same issues with eBay. Someone has done an ‘unauthorized takeover’ and eBay is looking into it. This was AFTER I told them to get rid of my account, so they know it isn’t me playing with my account.

Re: Paypal

Yikes!

I don;t have a paypal account nor do I use anyone elses.

Re: Paypal

I got it once to pay for something but like FG I was getting e-mails about my account. I checked it to make sure there was no unauthorized use, changed the password, and I haven't recv'd anything after that.

Re: Paypal

I got it when I sent sumthing to sumone in Pak...did get a few emails...reported those to Paypal and they told me they were illegal and were not from Paypal....haven't used it since then....just cuz didn't need to...otherwise I think its ususally safe...

Re: Paypal

I use it. I think that if you don't have any credit card added to the paypal account, you are safe. When I make a purchase, I provide the CC info. This process actually adds the CC to the paypal. So I go back into the paypal account and remove the CC. This way, whoever is hacking into my paypal, will have to provide their own CC anyway which I could care less.

Re: Paypal

^ Asif, that’s a great tip. I removed my CC info.

by the way, the account was still active

Re: Paypal

Oh and those fake emails you recieve which claim to be from Paypal about updating the paypal account for security resason, there is an easy way to verify if they are really from paypal. There is always a link in those emails that it asks you to click on to go to their site. Without clicking on the link, if you just move your mouse over to the link, it should display, in the status bar at the bottom of your IE, the actual ip address or the hidden domain name that it will take you to. One example is below

paypal.com
