would you guys reccomend signing up to this service (for use with ebay)
I use it all the time. You really don't have any choice here. If you want to buy stuff from ebay you have to sign up. most of the sellers only accept payment through pay pal.
Paypal is by far the best method of payment online.

Just dont use it to recieve money, trust me they are robbing c**ts who arnt put under the same law as banks. terms and conditions that you agree to allow them to do anything including taking all of your money if they suspect a fraudlenttransaction or randomly start investigating you. Not under the FSA in UK like all banks so banking code not applied either.
If in the UK I would recomend www.nochex.com

I use paypal regularly but you have to be very careful as Risc points out.
Paypal users can be defrauded easily. As someone who uses ebay a lot, I can tell you that so many fraudsters - particularly from NIgeria & Indonesia are looking for every opportunity to scam some cash from.
Ive been had a few times so be careful! Also Paypal will take ur money but they dont give sh!t if something goes wrong.
Having said that, most of the time its fine but I resent paying 4% to them.
