Payment of Restaurant Bills

Is it a totally Desi thing that men always pay for restaurant bill or ladies everywhere are privileged? :hmmm:

Heard that American system / culture don’t allow burdening men?

Re: Payment of Restaurant Bills

It's not just a Desi thing. Over here it's also generally the man who pays the restaurant bill.

However if you talking about corporate dinners/lunches rather than private ones, then it is usally the most senior person on the table who pays the bill. And if that happens to be a woman, then it's gonna be her. By most senior I mean job-wise, not age-wise.

Re: Payment of Restaurant Bills

Yes in Business culture, its a different story. There was our lady boss who used to order samose and jalebi every Thursday. We used to think that she might be doing some fateha, etc on Thursdays :D

Re: Payment of Restaurant Bills

Here it's not like you pay or I will pay, anyone can pay,a friend can give a treat to another or if bunch of friends are going out for dinner they will divide money.

Re: Payment of Restaurant Bills

Yes that dividing / sharing money is getting popularity in Desi culture now. But question arises, why this was followed so religiously?

Re: Payment of Restaurant Bills

I always paid during our dates with husband before marriage now I wasool it with interest:D

Re: Payment of Restaurant Bills

:cb: That means yaara was comfortable while you paid

Re: Payment of Restaurant Bills
