Pay To Get A Job - Pakistan

I had my cousin over from Pakistan here on a visit visa and was mentioning that they are hardly any jobs in Pakistan even in highly developed areas such as Lahore and Islamabad and if there is a posting say 40-100 jobs available they will go firstly for their closest relatives, family then look for those who are rich and can pay them a amount of money before hiring them? Has anyone heard or experience this? I think it’s outrageous but that’s how hard he was telling me?

Re: Pay To Get A Job - Pakistan

I know a few people who had to bribe to get a government job. Private sector jobs are granted to the best candidate.

Re: Pay To Get A Job - Pakistan

he told you the truth. I have been spending a reasonable amount of time in Pakistan during last three years and society is not the same as it used to be some 8 to 10 years ago. corruption every where and families struggling to make their both ends meet.

Re: Pay To Get A Job - Pakistan

Private sector is not bad... they hire only best ones.........

Goverment sector is polluted............

Re: Pay To Get A Job - Pakistan

Salaries are still not good even in private sector. I was speaking with a bank manager few hours ago and he told me that no bank job scope for B.com guys any more. Only MBAs with throughout first div and all they get is 12K at start.

Re: Pay To Get A Job - Pakistan

I don't know.... my friends got jobs in banks with good salaries.... and still people are working in banks on good salaries... i think it depends on person's skills as well............ because there is very tough competition now.......

Re: Pay To Get A Job - Pakistan

**Bribery comes in different forms and disguises. sometimes in the form of donations even.

my nephew in India got a teaching job in a Degree College. there, it has to be approved by the Provincial Ministry of Education. that's where elaborate bribery schemes hity you big time.

my bro refused to pay a bribe of Rs. 1 lack [100 K]. they raised an objection over the appointment saying another teaching staff is NOT needed because the enrollments are down...what a lie! it's always on the increase.

a year later, he had to pay it to secure approval and start his job. this time around the 'rates' went up and he ended up paying Rs. 1.5 lacs. [150 K]...what a shame!!!**
