Paul Condon coming to Pakistan

LAHORE, May 02(PNS):Cricket’s James Bond 007 Sir Paul Condon is coming to Pakistan next month and Pakistan will cooperate with him.

“We have been informed that he would come in the later part of May and he would be welcomed for any type of investigation,” Pakistan Cricket Board director operations Brigadier Munawwar Rana said.

Condon, appointed ICC investigator, is currently touring Sri Lanka to interrogate former Sri Lankan captain Arjuna Ranatunga and Aravinda de Silva.

Condon has Monday said he hopes to visit Pakistan next week to interrogate players named in an Indian report.

“We don’t know he (Condon) is coming in the first week of next month, but still PCB will cooperate,” he said.

Former Pakistan captain Salim Malik was among the nine foreign players named in Crime Branch of India’s match fixing report released last November.

Malik, serving a life ban on match fixing charges, has also said he will extend full cooperation with any investigation.
