Patriotism Beyond Ideology

Can we establish it in our nation?

I think we should and it can be done.

I don’t care if you are a communist and want to have a communist repubic of Pakistan, or you are an atiest and want to have a Godless republic of Pakistan or you are an Islamist and want an Islamic emirates of Pakistan, as long as you place the interest of the nation abobe your personal ideologies. Where a fellow Pakistani be loved and respected regardless of his theo-political inclinations. We can see this happening in Israel where they have athiests, moderates, orthodox and ultra-orthodox jews, but they have work in unison for the state.

I hate when some people say that if the country is not liberal enough or religious enough to their standards, they will renounce her.

*Egalitarianism is the key to create patriotism and that my friend doesn't exist in Pakistan. *

Re: Patriotism Beyond Ideology

what is this ''ballaaah'' called egalitarianism

Re: Patriotism Beyond Ideology

^Means equal oppurtunity for all.

Right on!

Re: Patriotism Beyond Ideology

will that not be against the premise of existence of pakistan? I suppprt your thinking and this is the only way towards progress in our part of the world. You dont have to care for what indians will say when you become an egalitarian country, but your first and biggest hurdle will be your own people. My 2 cents.

If you don't mind me saying this.

Perhaps you have bought into the religious fundo cr@p that believes in

Pakistan = Islamistan

The reality is quite different dear.

Even a novice student of Pak-India history can see the following:

--------Every Islamist worth a dime supported Congress, AND

--------Every Islamist Mullah declared Jinnah Kafir (non-believer), and Pakistan as a haram (forbidden) idea.

There goes your "premise theory".

FYI. Jinnah knew Islam and Muslims will survive in India the way they have done for the past centuries.

He only wanted constitutional guarantees for the NON-HINDU dominated provinces.

Obviously Congress leadership and their Mullah brethren didn't understand these finer points of the political struggle.

And the rest is (as they say) is history.
