patience

I know that Allah doesn’t put burden on any human more than it can bear but there is only too much one can take & after that people give up.

We are suggested in our tough times that we should do sabr but don’t you guys think that patience might take a toll on your emotional & mental health if its for a longer period of time? Won’t you get frustrated & depressed? Won’t that bottling up of your emotions for years & years in the name of sabr would make you explode like a bomb one day? I know when we Submit to Allah’s will & have faith in Allah things get a lot easier but still sometimes trails & tribulations go on for years & years & sometimes they just don’t end for you.

Re: patience

Yes, sabr and prayer is usually what is advised to do in tough times.

But is varies from situattion to situation. You can't be enduring zulm on yourself and not look for potential solutions or options. Allah looks at our prayers AND efforts. And if there is no way out then Allah WILL make a way. He always does.

Re: patience

what are some good duas to read during tough times? just setting idle and being patient does not lead to much. what does being patient really mean?

Re: patience

"The best worship is waiting for the ease from Allah to come when you are in hardship"

So if you see if you are patient with all these tribulations you are in ibadah even if you are sleeping, eating, walking or even sitting idle at home.

The least we can do is try not to complain if we are in tough times but some say that doesn't negate our sabar even if we complain.

Re: patience

Pray your salah five times a day. Read the Masnoon Azkaar after the Fard namaz. Also read the Quran (with translation of course). This should help you find peace in tough times.

Re: patience

Keeping things bottled up for too long a time is never a good thing. One should have someone to talk to, whether it be a close friend or family member, preferably someone who has your best interest at heart. Also, mental health issues are a serious topic, and having sabr is great, but if one has a chemical imbalance, then they should seek professional help.
