Just heard he said that because most of the players apart from Misbah are not educated it has led to the downfall of the cricket team.

What he forgot was that the biggest para likha jahil who brought such shame to the nation is Salman Butt.

Maybe it's because administration has responsibility to guide them more. In case of Mohammad Amir they failed.Because they are incompetent they want to shun all responsibility by claiming players ignorance. If they were educated, then it would be another excuse.

Same story everywhere else.

I read the article. Smacks of elitism. Cricket is typically played by the elite in India and I asume in Pakistan also.

If we go by the comment of PCB chief, then only place to get educated ( a person who can speak good English) person is England.
Heard even kids speak excellent English..

Yes, growing up in England was instrumental in the doors that opened for me. It also helped with my batting against swing, though Geoff Arnold was always a handful.

Hence 80-plus is too old for someone to be holding such an important position as PCB Chairman.

Education is important but it does not help you if you hang out with the wrong crowd or don’t use commonsense. Sports ethics and professionalism are influenced by many factors incl. education, your upbringing and your environment or circle of friends

I will quote Abdul Qadir here, ‘iss umar mein aap ko aik nurse ki zaroorat hoti hai jo apko yeh batai k aap ney iss waqt yeh goli khani hai!’…haha
