Re: pathans

Chupkese, Because I have not been given the full story.... just a few lines to outline the gist of it I can only advise upon the issues Ive gleaned from your post.

As far as I can see from your post, a girl from a traditional family(i dont know which country) ie a family that uphold these rules and regulations decides to leave home of her own accord.... disregarding the feelings of her parents(that chap and chappess who gave birth to her and nurtured and raised her)
in order to absond and live with a young man who she thought in her infinite wisdom, was somebody she wanted to marry and live the rest of her life with in marital bliss.

This girl would have known what kind of family she came from, what values they hold dear and what would happen if those value were contravened.

Did you hear that..... She would have known what would happen if she crossed the line, now... its not necessarily something I agree with but it happens.

The concept of honour is very important in that culture, and this girl had sullied her family's reputation in the community and amongst relatives. The family would probably be ostrescised and ridiculed(even in the uk) and this would fuel anger which would in turn lead to the tragic end to this couple. This is not something that happens in Pathan families it also happens with Saudi's, Kurds, Middle Eastern peoples. and North Africans as well as Sikhs and Hindu's and Pak Punjabies too. Honour is very important in all societies in the world....

Anyway, the girl got to live with her partner to the end of her life!

Now for your question about giving youre word to a family like that,
If that family hadnt gone and done their daughter in would you think that you can give your word to that family and then break your promise,

to be continued.........

Re: pathans

auntie lazy_vaisy, what do you have against us Punjabis (or is it Punjabies?) You think we don't deserve meat? :(

Re: pathans

Re: pathans

I dont need to correct you because you havent made an incorrect statement, merely asked a question.... and there is no crime in that.

As for Shahid Afridi, I'm afraid I cannot give you the answer because I dont know.... but to compensate I can tell you how to make a nice chocolate cake.
