**LAHORE: Indian pacer Irfan Pathan relishes payee', a special dish made of goat hooves and cooked up to 14 hours, and he successfully persuaded a hotel cook to prepare it for him here.** Since his arrival in Pakistan last week with the Indian team for the three-Test series, Pathan had been requesting a cook at the hotel Pearl Continental to prepare the dish, which is equally popular in Pakistan as well as India. “Pathan has been after me, requesting me to cook payee’ since he arrived on Thursday. I finally cooked it for him today, and he immensely liked it,‘’ said Zareen Khan, a cook at the hotel.
“You know, I cooked it for 14 hours!‘’ he informed, about the delicacy. Pathan enjoyed `payee’ along with the Indian team over dinner on Thursday night at the Dum Pukht that specialises in Indian. Pathan not just likes non-vegetarian dishes, but he also loves the huge aquarium installed in the hotel lobby.
“Irfan loves watching the fish. After having his dinner, he always watches the fish in the aquarium (before heading back to his room),‘’ said the amiable assistant manager M Baladitya as Pathan was engrossed in watching the fish.
Pathan clearly gets a thrill watching fish of different hues, shapes and sizes in the aquarium, as was evident when he and his fellow left-arm seamer Rudra Pratap Singh discussed the behaviour of the fish with a childlike passion. Every time Pathan stops at the aquarium, a crowd of autograph seekers gathers around him.
