Patch contraception?

I have been prescribed evra patch for contraception. Im getting married end of next month, not sure if i should start using it now or just before the wedding, if it works like a pill then i might need to start using it with my period at the begining of november.

The doctor just told me that it has the side effect of mood swings, bloatedness and bleeding/spotting.
Does anyone know if it also results in weight gain and acne??
Does it also result in temporary infertility like the pills when u stop using it??
what if i miss a patch or forget to change it after a week?
Do i still need extra protection with a condom?
The doctor also said i dont need to use it during my periods except the first starting periods, is that so?
Anybody used it and still using it?

I had no idea a patch like thing existed for birth control, i was quite surprised :slight_smile:

i had used the pill before, but then switched to the patch because i was always forgetting to take the pill. I did gain weight, but not sure if it was due to the pill or the patch. it was easy to use and it stayed on, even in shower.

Yea the good thing about it is that its once a week thing.
Did u get acne or ur skin cleared up ?

i didnt get any acne. but i think BCP helps in reducing the acne anyways.
