The real story is that until 9/11, most Americans did not have a problem at all with Islam or Muslims. They really did not give a flying crap about you or your religion. You were unimportant to most Americans. There was no War on Islam, there were no preachers ranting about your relgion, we really did not care enough to hate you. If your brothers have brought you some backlash by killing 3000 innocent people on 9/11, that is not my fault.
