so when ur speaking with someone in pakistan… or trying to order something from there how do you tell them you want pastel colors? or you want a nude pink or nude yellow or nude coral or whatever 
im at a loss here cuz nude apparently means nothing to pakistanis :hinna: or it means something else entirely :cb and they dont seem to get pastels either so what do i say when im trying to describe such a color

Nude? Just tell them you're looking for a nanga pink/purple/blue. They'll probably think you want a naked dude....how scandalous :p

Pastel colors (IMO) are basically tints. They're just lighter/softer/more subdued shades of a color. I guess you can attemp saying for example that you want a very very light/halka blue/purple/pink/etc.
Or if you can email the person....send them a pic of the color you have in mind.

I have trouble explain colours as well. I tried to explain teal to them, but they kept calling it green. It's NOT green!
I find the best thing to do is send them a swatch or a picture of exactly what you mean.

is it just me or does it seem like describing colors in pakistan is very adjective intensive!?!??! case in point:
tea pink
ice blue
shocking pink
pyaazi rang (i still have no idea what the hell that means...what color does an onion have? and what does that have to do with bridals!??!)
ungoori green
aasmaani rang
bottle green
hehee...i learned all these rang-barangi terms from my fashionista cousins..finally just gave up and sent them a sherwin williams paint sample fandeck so that we'd be on the same page.....lol!
when you figure out the urdu translation to "nude/flesh tones", please let me know ;)

^ pyaazi rang refers to lavender I think..u know the innermost layer of a red onion
Purple = magenta
bright pink = shocking pink
lighter pink = tea pink
beige/etc = skin color
aqua/teal = sea green
light blue/turqoise? = ferozi

"nude**" can be translated as **“halkaa/Khaam/narm”
Pastel =** narm / halkaa zard****
shocking = shoKh
sky blue = aasmaanii
beige = halkaa baadaamii
sea green = katthaaii
turquoise =**** firozii
olive green = angoorii****
coral color = moongiya rang/rang-e-marjaan
pink =**** gulaabii
purple = kaasnii / baiganii
pyaazii rang = violet/Darnel**

nude refers to skin/flesh coloured stuff. other colours don't come in "nudes", dude.

sorry i meant pale yellow and dull/pale/light coral lol im sorry ive been maghaz maaring with Pakistan k waasi for such a long time ive been turned upside down and all around as well
