yup I’ve never heard of vanellis but here’s how I made this pasta for a dinner:
penne pasta: 1 pack boiled, and drained. Add 2 tbsp oil after draining to prevent from sticking.
Take 500 gm bonless chicken cut in small pieces, marinate with ginger/garlic paste, salt, black pepper and juice of 1-2 lemons for a while ( I also added a little chili sauce). Fry lightly in oil, add 2 cups water and let cook, retain the broth.
Take 3-4 tbsp butter, melt in a non-stick pan, add 3-4 tbsp flour to make a paste. Add 3-4 cups milk and stir in the broth from the chicken. Cook to let thicken. Add chicken pieces, 2-3 stalks chopped spring onions, mushrooms. Season with thyme, oregano, salt, black pepper, white pepper, garlic powder, red chili flakes/paprika/hot sauce. Add the boiled pasta. adjust spices and seasonings to taste. To make it even richer, I throw in any cheese I have, and also a few tbsp cream. But its optional

raania I make it almost the same way but I dont fry chicken sseparately. I cook marinated chicken in oil+butter, add flour, bhoon for a minute, add milk and seasonings, let simmer and then add in boiled pasta. saves me some time. plus I also pipe mashed potatoes on the edges to make it better for my kids.
