Past or future generations?

Question asked on the morning radio show was:

If you could choose between meeting your great-great grandparents or your great-great grandchildren - who would you wish to meet and why?

Re: Past or future generations?

I would want to meet my great great grand parents because it would be cool to know what the life was like for them back then. Anotha reason i can think of is..i will know more about my roots and family. Now same can be said about if i had chosen to meet my great great grand kids but to me i like learn something negative from g.great grand parents used to do or say. And i would in turn..turn that "idea" or "stereotype" into positive one for my later generation.

Re: Past or future generations?

If I could choose between the two then I would want to meet my great great great grand children. To see if they are on the right path and still have good values and morals (i.e. are they good muslims).

This because Qayamat is coming near and the world is going ashtray. I hope my kids and future generations stay on the right path :k:

Re: Past or future generations?

i ll meet my great great grand parents so i can learn more about islam from them as at that time there were less innovations in religion......

also that will make me proud...........

Re: Past or future generations?

Great, great grandchildren..............I want to know where we are headed

Re: Past or future generations?

children....... already have rough idea of how the parents lived........but peek into the future should fun....

Re: Past or future generations?

My grandchildren. I would love to know where my family roots are headed as well as what's going on in the world. For example, how is Pakistan doing? Where are we standing as Muslims? etc.

Re: Past or future generations?

I'd pick my descendants. It would be fun to learn about the future, make comparisons, and to know ( as Guac said) where we're headed. Learning about that just seems like more of a mystery to me than learning about great-grandparents. Strange thing is that both of my parents don't know much about their own grandparents.....and when asked, very little is shared/known about them.....I guess there wasn't as strong a family connection. But still, more intrigued by the future than the past.

Re: Past or future generations?

Great grand kids so I can find out stuff, with great grand parents I'd love to meet them, but we already have the means to find out about their lives

Re: Past or future generations?

I woudl want to meet my great great grandparents because I would like to know more about where I came from in order for me to see where I'm going.

Inshallah we will be reunited with our great great grandparents and great great grandchildren in the akhira.

grand grand children. Would love to see what kind of era they will be living in.

Past does not matter that much to be honest. But future is extremely intriguing.

Re: Past or future generations?
