yup
chk this

re: Passport & Reasons for migration from sub-continent.

That is a literal meaning of what actually a passport is. What about what a passport is figuratively and what it enables you to do, even I can go to wikipedia and post that here.

re: Passport & Reasons for migration from sub-continent.

what you want to discuss Aisha? Passports or Nationalities? If passport then like ALWAYS it's still just a travel document or a document which identifies your nationality. It's a MEAN to identify, not characteristic of nationality.

In today's world only CORE nationality matters. Wherever you go it does not matter what passport to put forward, it's your colour and race which identifies you.

re: Passport & Reasons for migration from sub-continent.

so what are we suppose to explain passport philiosophically now :konfused:
obviously we’ll give literal meaning :smack2:

well said :k:

re: Passport & Reasons for migration from sub-continent.

Ok wait, rather I wanted to discuss nationalities Xeno. Can you somehow incorporate Nationalities in to the title please?

Sure I can change it. What you want to discuss about nationalities? it's your thread hence you choose a title. :-D

re: Passport & Reasons for migration from sub-continent.

Like I want to discuss why so many people go from the subcontinent to other countries to change their passports and nationalities.

re: Passport & Reasons for migration from sub-continent.

Hey Mods and Managers

What is conclusion here ???

re: Passport & Reasons for migration from sub-continent.

^ Now this is entirely different subject and you will also have to change your 1st post. Passports/nationality & "reasons for migration from sub-continent" are two different issues.

re: Passport & Reasons for migration from sub-continent.

I've been living abroad for almost 7 years but still haven't applied for the nationality, I don't think there's any need for it unless I need to travel a lot within Europe. My Pakistani passport makes me feel proud and that's another reason for it, though most people can't tell my origin but everytime I like to make it clear that I'm from Pakistan.

re: Passport & Reasons for migration from sub-continent.

sometimes, while travelling, passport and nationality does play a major role in receiving the **services u need. i tell you what happened to us.

i was travelling with my sister from Toronto to Delhi via Los Angeles and over the pacific. i held a canadian passport while my sister held an indian passport. for our flight from Los Angeles to Hong Kong, we had to stand in separate line in order to boarding the aircraft. US and Canadian Citizens in one line while all other nationalities had to be finger printed so thay had to stand in a separate line. it wasn't too bad at all. the worst has yet to come when we got to Hong Kong.

our flight to delhi was cancelled due to bad weather [fog] at delhi and we were offered overnight hotel accomodation in Hong Kong. i had no problem but my sister was denied entry into the city coz of her citizenship. she had to stay at the airport and offcourse i stayed with her. it was hard on our backs to sit out the night :(

so, passports do matter!

heyyyyyyyyy!!!!

after i finished writing i notice that u have chnged the topic title...clever! eh? haha

Re: Passport & Reasons for migration from sub-continent.

^ Hashmat you were treated differently because you were travelling from home territory. Even in sub-continent on arrivals, if you have Indian/Pakistani passport your immigration does not take long. Nationality and origin does play a major role, for example British nationals can travel visa-free to some countries BUT non-resident British nationals do not have this luxury. So in this case both have same passport and same nationality, but they are treated differently because of their origin.

ADDENDUM:- Yeah thread title changed after Aisha requested it.

Re: Passport & Reasons for migration from sub-continent.

u killed the thread xeno maaaaan :(

Re: Passport & Reasons for migration from sub-continent.

Main reason for migration was the persecution of us Ahmadies in Pakistan. I'm glad I don't posses the Pakistan Passport anymore. The name itself is the biggest lie. "Pak"

Re: Passport & Reasons for migration from sub-continent.

Re: Passport & Reasons for migration from sub-continent.

LOL Kya matlab?! :cb:

Re: Passport & Reasons for migration from sub-continent.

Passports and nationality matter if you travel a lot. A lot of people do it for better education/life for their children (at times ruining their own lives).

Things change when you use them as an ego massaging device and start demeaning people who choose not to change their passport or nationality.
