hehehe,
i think this is so funny that in 1 thread, Kami bhai actually tells/suggests to me to start a thread on guppies meeting on vc & i can’t help myself & follow his order.
& now, i’m doing the exact same thing as Muzna wanted me to open up a thread on a card game she was inquiring about how to play & voila, i follow her order
as to how the game works.
this is when Pakistani culture totally rocks when it’s true, our culture does stand for something as chotay barou kee baat mantai hai. ![]()
Okay. As the title suggets: card games!
As mentioned in the other thread, my all-time favourit is “Spoons” where my friends & I as 6th to 8th graders used to play. You’re actually suppose to use spoons in the game; but blah, pens are enough. Spoons? Pens? Same thing!
K.
So you get a group of ppl playing. Have them sit in a circle, & layout in the centre of the circle 1 pen less than the total number of ppl playing the game. eg if 5 ppl are playing, layout 4 pens in the centre.
Shuffle the cards, & hand out 4 cards to each player. Now the whole point is that those 4 cards you get are to be the same in number or royalty-like or jacks or aces or whatever. eg all 4 cards should be 6 of hearts, 6 of diamonds, 6 of spades, 6 of cloves. Or another eg, king of hearts, king of diamonds, k of cloves, k of spades, etc you get my point. They have to be the same type.
Process of the game:
Beside 1 player – let’s call him/her A – are the remaining cards which are face down. Player A now picks up the card from the untouched deck…sees what type of card it is. If he likes it (ie of a type he already has) then he keeps it & passes Player B another card from player A’s card (which he didn’t want). Player B looks at that card he gets…if he wants it..keeps it & passes another card he doesn’t want to Player C else he’d pass the same card to Player C. & etc till the end of the circle wher the last player just stacks the card no one wanted in a seperate player.
& so once again, player A picks up another card from his stack & the whole process begins all over again.
Now, mind you, it seems slow at first. But oh my gosh Muzna, this games gets so fast once you get the hang of it. & god knows who knows who has what type of card & who are on the verge of getting the same type of card.
Though, as soon as one of the players realizes that all his/her cards are the same, that’s when (this is when the fun comes in) he/she quickly grabs a pen which was positioned in the centre of the cicle. & if you see anyone grab a pen, then you gotta quickly grab one asap. & the one who’s left without a pen…is the loser for that round & receives the letter “S”.
Then Round 2 begins all over again & if that same person who lost in the previous round loses again, he’ll get an “P” next & etc with the rounds & etc with the SPOONS spelling as the game progresses. & if one player in particular actually ends up with all the letters – then he/she is out of the game & the game resumes with the remaining players.
& there’s the game for ya.
Holy shoot. I remember how my hand woudl get scratched by my friends while grabbing the pens or me scratching others…if i’d play this game now…i think i’d actually wound the other players’ hands since i’m all into nailcare & noooo way would i cut 'em for the game as much as i love it.
& oh gosh my fingers hurt so much from typing all this that i’m gonna stop. Ok, Muzna, i hope you were actually able to follow with me expalaining the game cuz honestly, if there’s anything i sux at, is explaining to ppl, like directing them. ![]()
