Salam......I am not sure whether this thread should be in life or sumwhere else but im psoting it here :D
I have just passed my driving test and i need to buy a car for myself.....BUT i have no knowledge about cars. My parents said to me, you decide what car you want and we will buy it for you but i dont know how to decide which is a good car or what to look for when making a decision?
One of my friend said i shouldn't buy a expensive car because i have just passed ma test and she thinks that i will surely do 10 accidents within a year lol
Can you guys suggest me something, what things should i look for before buying a car?
Thank you
Low insurance group and a car that isn't too expensive to service if cost is a factor and with parts that aren't too expensive to replace.. If you feel really comfortable in the car u learned in u could get that or something similar (eg. pug 207, vauxhall corsa, micra).. Not sure if ur in the UK, US or somewhere else but if it's the UK bear in mind how much road tax u pay can also depend on which model u go for.. The costs do all add up and esp when ur a new driver the insurance can be a killer..
Manual!! Automatic cars suck. Plus people think it's cool when a girl drive standard
Agree :DAlso auto makes u lazy imo (and it's more boring to drive)
congratulations. you are lucky because your car is going to be sponsored by your parent.
In my opinion, you should go with used car for a couple of year. You can also add your name in your parents car insurance policy. It will help you to get low insurance cost.
Manual/Automatic gear is depend on your learning. If you learn on automatic then go with it.
I prefer toyota make and sedan style. (toyota parts are relatively cheap in US, while American cars are not strong enough and alos lose market value when you sell them)
insurance: I think geico is cheaper, but it depend on your number of driving years, and age factor http://www.geico.com/
My very first car was a brand new Toyota Corolla. Had it for 5 years...never had one single problem with it. Don't know about other countries...but in the U.S., I don't think you can go wrong with a Toyota.

Good gas mileage for me...I hate...simply hate...like loathe...pumping gas.
I dont like cars that are too big...so small cars like corollas and civics are wonderful. I feel like I dont know how big it is and where exactly it ends...lol
Low maintenance...routine oil changes and that should be about it.
and you have no idea how bad drivers guys are. wese, only a few days back i saw an article on yahoo that study shows that women are better drivers then men... hmm...
...only a few days back i saw an article on yahoo that study shows that women are better drivers then men...
and, that article was written by someone from the woman's group based on myths? :D
nope... that was based on global survey.... khair, i am not at all against khush fehmi, insaan ko khush rehna chaiye or mardo ko to khush hi rehna chaiye :D
Women are just better drivers because they drive so little. Its all the law of probability. Also women don't need to hear women back seat driving. Men do.
