Pass/Fail Master's

Guys I was wondering what the chances of being failed at MA level are so long as I do the work, ie hand in decent(ish) essays and so on.

I know some of you have experience in teaching at college/uni and am hoping you can let me know.

Re: Pass/Fail Master's

arrgh... Pass/Fail Masters?? you guys have it so easy... most programs I know in North America require students to maintain a B average to stay in the program and an A- to guarantee financial support.

It shouldn't be so hard though... I've been through two such courses and as long as you do your work and expend a decent effort, you'll do just fine.

Good luck.

Re: Pass/Fail Master's

How decent is decent?

I just want 51% man, just to get the MA after my name/on my resume.

Re: Pass/Fail Master's

r u serious???
u can't fail a Master's degree. You may possibly, maybe, fail a class or at most 2 depending.

Re: Pass/Fail Master's

I have 4 classes + a diss in total. Failing 2/4 would mean I fail. :(

So I'm getting good vibes here, its (quite) easy to pass?

Re: Pass/Fail Master's

^ trust me man... you got it so easy.

4 courses and a dissertation = Masters... and a Pass/Fail scheme for each.

This is unheard of in North America!! so yes this is relatively very very easy! and passing a course isn't hard at all - you'll do ok inshaAllah.

Re: Pass/Fail Master's

Just do duwah for me. :)

This 4 course/MA diss does inc exam components in the courses worth 50%. Its easier at other unis, this is at King's. Probably 5/6th best in the UK.

Re: Pass/Fail Master’s

Umar Talib, I agree with you!! that is definetely unheard of!!! and in the EU too I think…only 4 courses? in one year!!! You find yourself a very good deal!!!
I definetely take back my comment about the “maybe 2 courses” that you can fail. I was commenting about MBAs with at least 12 to 20 courses…Forget failing, you dont have room for that!!! Better sit down and start studying!!!
Good Luck!!! :flower2:
