I am almost 100% positive that Kamal's quotes were taken out of context. It is not like him, to say such irresponsible things. In all likelihood it is probably a fabrication to malign MQM, much like the JinnahPur map, and hundreds of other fabricated cases.
I respect MQM immensely, as it absorbs the insults and hatred that would otherwise be directed to normal every day muhajirs. It's funny how they are blamed for the Pakistan's troubles when they have never been in power. They were not a political party in 1971...but somehow they are the hindus India, sent to destroy Pakistan.
Perhaps one should ask the BLA, if they want liberation from Pakistan due to their dislike of MQM, perhaps the Pathans in the northern areas should be asked if they are waging a war against Pakistan due to MQM's existence. Perhaps Pakistan's immense debt was also orchestrated by them, and they also deliberately failed to make hydro plants to starve the nation of electricity. Yes, it is all MQM...blame everything on them, and glorify the actual culprits.
I know some people may hate what I am about to say next, but I have to say it anyway...MQM will stay, MQM will get stronger, MQM will spread to other parts of Pakistan, and MQM will fight back with violence, if confronted with violence. The people of Karachi learnt after thousands of their citizens were killed that, one must pick up the gun to ward of potential killers.
Well said, and while I condemn Kamal's remarks (if he really did say them), you are right that MQM is a scapegoat for a lot of people in Pakistan. BLA or Taliban sure as hell aren't killing mohajirs as much as they are killing punjabis, pashtuns or balochs. MQM will be a footnote in the next possible civil war in Pakistan.
It's pathetic how ignorant some individuals can get. 15-20 years ago an army operation was done which killed thousands, to stop Karachi from becoming an independent country. It was all based on bogus allegations, as clarified by the army high command. If MQM wanted to create "JinnahPur", they would have already done so...who would have stopped them? People call Altaf Hussain a traitor even though he doesn't have a billion dollar account in some swiss bank, or various mansions around the world. On the contrary, he served in Pakistan's army and is still loyal to the federation, despite the murder of his 60+ old brother and nephew by federal officers. I guess pathetic people, live in a pathetic fantasy world, pathetically believing pathetic conspiracies.
Re: Pashtuns are plotting to take over Karachi, Kamal tells NPR
Interestingly almost 90% of the threads on GS PA end up with a fighting between MQM supporters and opponents, regardless of their being on the topic or otherwise.
Re: Pashtuns are plotting to take over Karachi, Kamal tells NPR
On the flip side, look at pashtun ANP propaganda and racism. Just so you know what Kamal is dealing with.
They accuse mohajirs of being kicked out of India, but forget to mention that we helped create Pakistan and wanted to come here, while afghans werekicked out of their own country into Pakistan and Iran.
Also notice, the guns on display by the “non-violent” red shirts. Hypocrites.
Re: Pashtuns are plotting to take over Karachi, Kamal tells NPR
lol its funny how Altaf's mouthpiece and sub-commando Mustafa Kamaal is the one who uttered these racist remarks (trademarks of the MQM) and the paid MQM workers are writing paras and paras to vindicate his racist outburst, rather than condemning it.

When will punjabis and pushtuns condemn the racist outbursts of their own people? You can hear what people say at ANP, PSF etc. rallies.

The only leader from Punjab that ever said something remotely racist was that Musharraf chamcha Pervez Elahi who tried to use the Benazir riots, which by the way was meant to single out Sindhis and to appease the MQM. Now Elahi doesnt count, since hes a worthless Musharraf goon.
Kamaal (The MQM commando) was just trying to act like a hero in front of the gorey, and should issue his resignation and public apology for such a racist statement where he called all the PAshtuns of KArachi terrorists and fundamentalist, trying to take over the country.
**City Nazim Mustafa Kamal considers ethnic Pushtun a “threat” to and believes that they are plotting to take over the city. These opinions came to light in an interview with National Public Radio’s Morning Edition host Steve
Karachi****’s mayor, Syed Mustafa Kamal, considers these ethnic Pashtuns a threat. In his eyes, they are plotting to take over the city.
“These Pashtuns means like fundamentalist — religiously fundamentalist, religiously extremist,” Kamal says. “They are coming in. When it comes to ethnicity, when it comes to Islam they all are ... the same.”
“The man who’s coming in front of you ... look at him, look at his face,” Kamal says.
The mayor says he is convinced that Pashtuns are planning the locations of the illegal housing settlements. He says they are choosing strategic spots that block his own plans for the city.
“It’s a very strategic location, you see?” Kamal asks. “The superhighway is there. They can control the whole highway. ... They had a master plan before me. And they definitely have a master plan.”
Speaking with several residents of the city’s new settlements, it’s clear that not all are Pashtuns. And they seemed to have no master plan beyond their next meal.**
Just to highlight some of his racist remarks. In the end, its said that independent interviews with the PAshtuns working there reveals they have no masters plans beyond their next meals. How shameful is it to call such ppl conspirators trying to take over the city as indicated by this worthless nazim.
Re: Pashtuns are plotting to take over Karachi, Kamal tells NPR
MK has exagerrated here but the occupation of lands illegally in Karachi is a big problem - the prime example of which is the Al Asif Square at Karachi's sohrab goth whose original allotees have been left holding the babies.
Re: Pashtuns are plotting to take over Karachi, Kamal tells NPR
^ Its his job to deal with such problems in a fair and balanced way, rather than making excuses and terming a big proportion of the inhabitants of his country terrorists/fundamentalists. If he cant deal with the problem, than he should just resign rather than making racist gestures like that. Even NPR seems to disagree with him.
the inhabitants of his country terrorists/fundamentalists.
Interestingly these "terrorists/fundametalists" are mureeds of the local ulemas - much of their inspiration comes from Hakeem Akhtar, Loudianwhi saheb's mosque and Darul Uloom Korangi's umani brothers!
Re: Pashtuns are plotting to take over Karachi, Kamal tells NPR
Kamal criticised for anti-Pakhtoon words
PESHAWAR: Pakistan People’s Party-Sherpao (PPP-S) MPA Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao has expressed deep anguish over Karachi City Nazim Mustafa Kamal’s statement, in which he “resorted to harsh and indecent language against the Pukhtoons.”
Sherpao was referring to comments Kamal made in an interview with the American National Public Radio, to the effect that he believed Pushtun were plotting to take over Karachi and were all fundamentalists.
Sherpao said that Kamal’s statement was aimed at targeting the Pukhtoons to malign them. He rejected utterances in which the Pukhtoon were dubbed extremists, as uncalled for and unrealistic. He went on to say that the Pukhtoon have positively contributed with their labour toward the progress and uplift of Karachi.
The Pukhtoon have rendered great sacrifices for the peace and development of the city, he said, contending that they are peaceful people and are never involved in any sort of violence or extremism.
PSF resents remarks: The Pukhtoon Students Federation (PSF) also resented the nazim’s statement and has demanded an immediate apology, said PSF Sindh President Tariq Khan Tareen, General Secretary Dr Imran Afridi and other office-bearers. They said that the people knew who had occupied the roads of Karachi at gun-point on May 12 and who were involved in the massacre of innocent people that day.
They regretted that the Pukhtoon were being labeled land grabbers by the nazim while their legal settlements were being demolished. They said that various shops illegally built in front of the KMC ground in Baldia Town were a clear evidence of the activities of the real land mafia.
Reiterating that they would follow the ‘non-violence philosophy’ of Bacha Khan, the PSF leaders said that the city is peaceful as they had adopted a tolerant attitude, despite the atrocities meted out to them. app/ppi
You have a short memory for one and second you obviously have never listened to speeches by the PSO, PPI or it’s parent party the PML-N. You really have no clue about local ethnic politics in Karachi or elsewhere.

LOL, this is hilarious. Non-violence long left Bacha Khan's party. But with that said Kamal should apologize and clarify his comments. And ANP should apologize for it's constant racist utterances against mohajirs.
Re: Pashtuns are plotting to take over Karachi, Kamal tells NPR
This just shows that MQM is a racist/ethno-fascist party which will never mend their ways, even if they get power or change their names. When the PPO/TTO/ISO mayor of KArachi makes such absurd and jahiliana comments, we will hold him accountable, until then, this Mustafa Kamal degnerate should be bashed for making such a racist comment, and shoudl be urged to resign.
He was ready to resign when Altaf bhai made that whole 2 hour drama about him resigning( for the 50th time), lets see if he resigns this time.
So this rally was held to commemorate all those innocent Pakistani citizens who were killed by the MQM terrorists on 12th May 2007 in the broad daylight. No wonder these people are filled with rage and anger. He is right, only an insane, brain-dead will ever call Pashtuns gher-muqami. I am not agree with that slaping thing though, but admitting him in a psychiatric hospital can be a long term solution to his plight.
