Can anyone teach me?

Re: Pashto

why do you want to learn Pashto?

Re: Pashto

No reason, just want to. Do you speak it?

Re: Pashto

learn Farsi first...Pashto will come as 'bonus' :)

Re: Pashto

They are not related are they? I dont understand Pashto at all, but sometimes i do get some farsi.

KKF, do you speak Farsi?

Re: Pashto

Yes, I am a Pakhtoon.

Its not an easy language to learn. I asked the reason for you wanting to learn it cuz I wanted to know your motivation level.

Re: Pashto

What does Farsi have to do with Pashto?

Re: Pashto

oh, i see!

no, i don’t speak Farsi but i can read, write and understand it.

aren’t they similar? :hmmm:

Re: Pashto

no they are not. That is why Pashto is a hard language to learn because it is different than other languages of the regions.

Re: Pashto

hmmm...i got it now! thanks for the enlightenment! :)

Re: Pashto

^^ my pleasure biradar.

Re: Pashto

Thats true its not easy, my cousin who lived in nowshehra speaks it fluently, so I asked him to teach me but he just starts having a conversation, you can't learn like that lol. But i do want to get some basic pashto because I dont know any regional languages except Punjabi.

Can you write few lines of how to introduce yourself in Pashto? :) I'm a student, living in the UK.

Re: Pashto

I do have that phrase book for Farsi, and I sometimes speak urdu in farsi accent just for fun lol how the kids spoke in children of heaven. I cant explain but i love farsi zabaan. I want to learn it in Iran, but thats not gonna happen anytime soon or ever.

Re: Pashto

you write sentences or words that you want translated. I will translate for you with explanation if needed.

there used to be a Pashto learning thread somewhere before as well a long time ago.

Re: Pashto

Alrite then heres few sentences.

my name is golgappay (im a female). Im a student at cardiff university. I like travelling and sleeping. I speak a little pashto but not too well.

I know Urdu and French so if you can make comparison with either of the two and ofcourse english, in terms of how you structure sentences, i'd really appreciate it. Dera manana :) im sure i said it rong lol

Re: Pashto
