Pashmina Shawls

Pure Pashmina wool shawls are like the most beautiful fabric you’ll ever see  They look so graceful and beautiful and elegant  :mudhosh:

The salesman was telling me you can pass original pashmina of dhai gaz araz [cloth width of almost 2.5 meters] through a cheechi ka challa. Imagine how soft this wool must be :mudhosh: And the thinner they are the warmer they are. Kewl i thought!

The only problem is… they r so freakin expensive :crying: The really good ones start at a very minimum of 40,000 rupees :crying:

The fakes ones n the not so fine ones are available starting from 1200 rupees even but the really good ones start from 40,000 minimum and go upto lakhs, the more expensive the better.

I wouldv’e posted a picture but it just won’t do justice. But I thought I’d enlighten my fellow guppies about the wonders of this amazing cloth and increase their GK :snooty:

Thanks for the info. Where are they from ? Are the made in Pakistan or India or some place else ? If in Paksitan would you have an idea where ?

hey, not sure, i think they r made in Pakistan...and they r avlbl all over Pak...i have seen them in shops in pindi and karachi

I have heard about the shawls that can go
thru a ring.:)
Just havn't seen one.

I know the real pashminas seem very costly initially, it really is worth spending the money and buying the best you can get. I've bought cheaper pashminas, made of a wool mix and after a while they went all bobbly and the fringes became all tangled.

But the real pashminas, made from pure pashmina wool, that I have look as good as new and are a good 3 or 4 years old. They get used as shawls, travel rugs, baby blankets, srunched up as used as pillows, emergency baby changing mats, scarfs and sarongs.

Mr Shahreen has even use a folded up pashmina to kneel on when doing a road side tyre change and once it was drycleaned you could never tell.

bohat mehengi hoti hain :bailan:

Khanzada yeah exactly :crying:

shahreen shock horror u let it be used as “folded up pashmina to kneel on when doing a road side tyre change” omg how could you! i salute ur courage and patience

SAJAL yup its true

 Pashmina shawls, but their very expensive :bailan:

Gotta defend pashminas here, while they may be expensive when you consider who long they last and how versatile they are then it's not really that much.

Pashmina shawls available in dubai r made in india available from 180dhs 2 1800 dhs...!!!

I was in peshawar & wanted 2 buy some 4 my sisters, & da prices were too high. It was da only shop in peshawar - R-Sheen, they r my relatives & they were offering it 2 me at a good price, but da quality was not at par with those I've seen in dubai.

I had a look at the ones in R Sheen too (why didn't you tell me before that you get discount there mal1k?!) but they weren't 100% cashmere, they had a silk mix in there. Of course the salesman swore blind that they were pure pashmina wool but luckily I had my own pashmina on me to compare.

^^ Shahreen, I dun advertise that I get discounts...I think no1 does, but hey da next time I'm in psh, I'll let u know.

I have heard , that they are made of wool from some special sheeps from Kashmir.

But i have also heard on tv , pashmina just was "ordernary" kashmiri wool.

I bought lovely pashmina shawls in london..ofcourse they were fake for about £10...but it is also very soft..

I want a pashmina shawl :crying:
Aaj ghaar meiN jagra zaroor hoo gha :snooty:

Maybe Father Christmas will bring you one............if you're good of course.

my wish … :grumpy:

I remember one of my friend from Dubai got this Cashmere scarf (not the shawl) for another friend of mine and guess what... my friend was shocked 'coz she so wanted to get this scarf but never got one becuase it was too expensive, but I guess she ended up paying her $100 even though she refused to take this, but still after alot of arguments and discussions about limits of spending over gifts for friends made her take that $100 bill. That was really a fabulous scarf and yes worth hundred dollars.

Sajal baji I have seen that and above all experienced it. That is quite alot of fun and cute indeed.
