Please share your recipe for 1.5 lbs of pasanday. I need to cook them today. Thanks!!!
Re: Pasanday
I can share a tarkeeb ..
but that would be of shar-passanday...
Re: Pasanday
Sure AQ. What is shar-pasanday?
Re: Pasanday
This is the way I make it
For 1kg beef
In a bowl add
Half a cup of yogurt
Salt
Red Chilli
Tumeric
Ginger/Garlic paste
Khashkas
Ilaichi
zeera
add pasandas to the yogurt mix and marinate for an hour
Brown 2 med sized onions, when they are done take 'em out and leave 'em on a paper towel to blot out the oil so they turn crispy
In the same oil add the pasandas covered in yogurt and cook on low low flame for half an hour.
Nonstick pan would be good for this.
When the pasandas are cooked, squeeze some lemon juice and garnish with the brown onions, coriander and green chillies.
*ppl also add sabut kali mirch, long and coriander seeds but I dont otherwise my girls refuse to eat the food
Re: Pasanday
Adra, do you grind the khaskhas, and other garam masalas or put them whole?
Re: Pasanday
If Im making it properly with all the garam masalas, then yes I grind them.
The Ilaichi and Khashkhas I dont grind at all.
Re: Pasanday
Some ppl add papaya to it too although I dont understand why.
If its proper pasanda meat, its already hammered thin and will cook in half an hour, no need to add a tenderizer to it.
To make it healthy sometimes I cut potatoes in cube and layer the bottom of the pan Im going to cook the pasanday in with them and then put the meat on top of the potatoes, the jucies from pasandas cook the potatoes so yum.
But then thats pretty untraditional :@:
Re: Pasanday
My girls love potatoes too, its an easy way of making them eat vegetables ![]()
Use a nonstick pan, you wont have to worry bout things sticking or burning.
Re: Pasanday
Adra, I like your recipe. I tried to make em with a shortcut some friend told me. I think i marinated the beef cut into strips in yougurt/Shan Bihari Kebab Masala/ginger/garlic paste, some oil & I think hot peppers chopped. Same fried onions in oil...added hot pepper, black pepper seeds, loang & i dont know if i used alaichi..i hate it...and then added the beef and cooked till tender....it was good, but too "sourish" for my family...hmm i gotta try ur recipe...sounds gooood
Re: Pasanday
Sure thing. I have this new non stick kaRahi pan type of thing that I use for everything!
Hey, how did your dal and palak aloo turn out?
Re: Pasanday
Adra's recipe is for 1 kg beef. That is 2.2 lbs. I have a little less than that so I'll use less dahi as we all don't like too much khatta.
Re: Pasanday
Afro the sourness could have been due to the Bihari kebab masala, ive tried it and it is sour.
Try it and let us know how it turned out :)
Niksik for yogurt use andazay say, it should be enough to help coat all the masala on the beef. Start with half a cup and add more if you think you need more.
Daal turned out awesome.
Aloo palak turned out good too but the girls rejected it cause of the palak.
The big boy ofcourse lapped it all up with lots of Achar on the side :@:
I took pics, will post later.
Re: Pasanday
Jeez, the fella and his achaar. Have him try mirchoN ka achaar. Then tell us what happens.
Re: Pasanday
lol, he’s one step ahead of you Niksik.
Greeks pickle Banana Chilli in Vinegar. Apparently its quite good ![]()
Re: Pasanday
