just someone who wrote azaad shayeri, and that is not what i regard as poetry....
ppl like parveen shakir and ahmad faraz have lowered the standard of urdu poetry....

This statement is as true as saying that "Mohammad has lowered the standards of prophethood and Quran isn't really poetic or divine".

why you say that I am wondering. Explain. I am confused. Do you say this because their poetry is easy to understand and doesnt employ big words from Mutala-e-Urdu?
while i regard tennyson as a great english poet (because he knew how to use his vocabulary), i dont see blake as a bad poet either (despite him using very simple words)....
but there has to be a limit to how low u keep ur standards....
and anyone who writes 'aazaad nazm" (or blank verses) is not a poet (FULL STOP)
i mean when u say that good poets r ghalib, iqbal, meer, aatish, etc. then where do u put these poets among them????
