I know most desi salons offer bridal makeup , and party makeup. Does anyone know the difference between the two?
My theory is that bridal makeup is heavier in foundation and stuff because of the movie/video and fotography at the wedding, whereas party makeup is almost hte same (heavy eye makeup, lipstick, base, etc) but they just don’t cake on teh foundation as much? Am i right or what? ![]()
Re: "Party" Makeup vs "Bridal" makeup
^ Pretty much. To some degree, bridal make up is more like "stage make up."
Re: “Party” Makeup vs “Bridal” makeup
ohh ok.. so do parlors offer “party” makeup packages (like mani/pedi/waxing etc)
is it generally cheaper than bridal makeup? I’m not planning on ahving any movie or too much professional fotography that i want to wear 3 inches of makeup ![]()
Re: "Party" Makeup vs "Bridal" makeup
^ Well if it's a good parlor, the bridal make-up won't look too thick or caked on. I haven't seen any party packages. You might just want to ask around. Are you getting married in the US?
Just consider also the clothes you are wearing and how your hair will be done. Usually the whole look needs a bit heavier make up.
Re: “Party” Makeup vs “Bridal” makeup

Narial thats not nice...
Re: "Party" Makeup vs "Bridal" makeup
Sara.. the differense is almost what you have described..go for party makeup for your nikkah and then you can get the bridal make up done for rukhsati/valima!!
I think, you should do your eye makeup by yourself!!!
Re: "Party" Makeup vs "Bridal" makeup
why dont you get the bridal package.. and just tell them to go easy on the foundation :) I'm sure they ask you ?? right?? I got ready in pakistan and before she started the make-up she asked what type of look i wanted to go for .. glossy..matte.. what type of foundation.etc..etc.. and I just told her i would like my foundation to definitely match my skin tone.. nothing too light.. that was my main concern.. rest i just let her do. :)
also will they let you get the party makeup.. when you are the bride.. cuz i think their is a price difference..
Re: "Party" Makeup vs "Bridal" makeup
^Yah, it's nice to just let them do it, and relax for a change. Another artist gives you a fresh look.
Re: "Party" Makeup vs "Bridal" makeup
Sehar.. i think its very hard to relax at that time.. eventhough i did tell her to do whatever she thought would look good.. basically because i wasn't that into makeup then.. but i was constantly prayiing.. ke allah mian plz dont let her mess up.. :D ohh and i did keep my eyes close until she was done. lol..
Re: "Party" Makeup vs "Bridal" makeup
