i am looking for a really good makeup artist and someone who is good at doing hairstyles. I need it for August 2008 afternoon wedding. Does anybody know of anyone who won’t charge an arm and a leg. We have 5 people who need to get it done. I don’t live in NYC so i really don’t know of anyone.
Re: party makeup suggestions in NY area
how about going to MAC for the make up?
Re: party makeup suggestions in NY area
whats your price range?
i know of ayesha at singhaar, new look beauty parlor and chandni parlor. chandni does a pretty ok job. saman from studio sila travels to different states as well.
do not go to raheelas parlor even though she charges less. also there is laajstudios but i find them rude and unprofessional.
Re: party makeup suggestions in NY area
actually i've seen some of raheela's work...and its not that bad. her plus point is that she follows directions. minus is that the place is really ghetto and the ppl who work there are cheap.
Re: party makeup suggestions in NY area
i think her work's just mediocre. she does an ok job for some but for some brides she really piles on the foundation resulting in the geisha white look. besides the problem with her salon is that she has 3-4 brides getting ready on one day and doesnt give the special attention needed to each bride. she has only two shades of foundation that she uses on everyone (hearsay!) and its like you're in an assembly line with one person doing your eyes and another doing the face.
Re: party makeup suggestions in NY area
Well i haven't seen her makeup in person just in pictures, and they lookd nice in the pictures. however, just the ghetto-ness of the parlour (ZERO privacy!) is such a turnoff. and im sure she uses cheap, pakistani brand stuff... rather than good products. Cheap foundation needs to be thopp'ed on more and more than expensive foundation so thats why the geisha look...but i've also heard that if u bring her ur own makeup she will use that. so maybe that's why some turn out looking good and some turn out looking not good
Re: party makeup suggestions in NY area

Re: party makeup suggestions in NY area
