Pole dancing has been glorified thanks to the Kardashian sisters. Miley has just jumped on the bandwagon.
I think it's really hard to be a parent of a girl, cause you need to be able to deal with all these messages they get from the outside world.

It’s true. And it’s really difficult for teenage artists/actresses because they have to be the ‘perfect’ idols for their little fans. And as soon as these girls/guys do something wrong it’s all over the media and it’s really not fair on them because they’re as human as anyone else, just like other teenage girls/boys across the world screw up some time, they do too.
Gotta cut em some slack. HOWEVER the poles are really unnecessary. I watched these awards 
her father was in the crowd wasn’t he? 
Pole dancing is the only issue??? I think the real issue here is the clothing. What the hell is she wearing…

watch it with her, and discuss the issue with her. ask for her opinion. make sure at the end of the day she calls it a bad thing.
i dont know how many parents will agree to ask their daughter that would they like to dance to like that? if they take time to think its better to guide them them but if they instantly responses in "no" then u have very little to work on.
make sure u discuss these things with your daughter. it is always good to have mother-daughter relationship.
and if she not that old, tell her its bad.
