Or Nomi's way of giving a sigh that more desi women looked like that.
Re: Participation of Women in Combat War
Gaia most women in Afghanistan are medics or support staff. Not front line infantry or marines. So they don't get into active fights. All the special forces units in my province are men only. The only women we have at the FOB in Farah are in supporting roles or civilians.
Re: Participation of Women in Combat War
^i just made a point about women being capable of being physically stronger than men...... desi women are a different ball-game altogether.........they don't need to be foot soldiers......they do General's planning and maneuvers and Intelligence work perfectly....

I'm sure that's true but there are places in the world where women are fighting on the front lines. The American news media LOVES these stories of women soldiers coming back and sharing their stories and how their families were effected.
I for one do not believe that the door to women being able to participate in combat war should have ever been opened. Because this doesn't only effect those women who WANT to join the army and fight on the front lines, but in the future all US citizen females may face being in a controversial position of supporting your nation or supporting your family.
But most people in the US believe that IF a woman wants to fight front lines than she should be allowed too. Because THIS is equality. Ya I beg to differ.
And Nomi- I completely agree.
Re: Participation of Women in Combat War
Heheh....
Well it really does depend on many factors... however honestly very very few Women are suited to close combat roles as CM has said...
In this day and age finding even men with such,.... erm Talent is rare.... few soldiers actually enjoy it.... most are forever hurt by it... when you kill someone else you kill a part of your own soul too... this is very true.
Gone are the days of Warriors anyway... we live in the age of Soldiers so lets face it its the uniforms and pen pushers who have more of a say... politics and war is a terrible mixture. :/
Re: Participation of Women in Combat War
I don't like the idea of women in combat. :s
Let the men handle wars.
Re: Participation of Women in Combat War
Have you ever heard of the Amazon tribe of wild warrior women who lived in a solitary female only tribe and fought with the greeks?
Re: Participation of Women in Combat War
My Ultimate dream (and dad's second choice of career for me): Joining airforce and being a Combat/Fighter Pilot. Alas, ended up being too sacred of heights when I sat on one and went for a experimental run.
Coming from personal exp, I wouldn't really recommend "Infantry warfare" (Maybe Armoured is still fine, if there was a pick between the two) to any woman. Yes, seeing Bloodsheed/bodies is cutting it close if you were a nurse/doctor but close-encounter killing takes it to a whole new level. Our physiology is just too delicate to handle it unless ofcourse you grew up in a lifesytle that permitted it or you were somehow "Xena's" long lost sister.
