People say that we should respect out parents/be good to them/never speak bad about them etc.etc.

but my question is…what if some1s parents are bad/evil…in that case what should that person do?

I mean take a look around you…in the world…there are many evil/nasty people around. what if these people happen to be the parents of someone unfortunate. what should this person do? how should he/she treat them? shoudl they tell anyone about their parents or keep quiet and take all the ****?

bad parents can come in all religions/cultures/races etc.

well…if this thread gets moved to religion…I’ll get answers from religious fanatics and extremists…

I want advice from normal people :slight_smile:

in another case, maybe some1s parents are too religious/strict/fanatic type in the first place…and hence that may be the problem :halo:

Treat your parents in the best possible manner with respect even if they are evil. Don’t say a word of “uff” at anytime. The only time you can disobey them is if they ask you to do things against the commands of ALLAH:swt:

You're obligated to follow ur parents and obey them unless they push you to do something un-Islamic, then u have every right to disobey them.

what if some1s parents disobey Allah in more than 1 way..

eg. Ive seen an example where some1s parents tolerated their kid taking drugs…and just cuz he’s a precious son they let him carry on…and all the other kids in the house had to suffer as well…living with a druggie.

I would say just try to be at your best and try to tolerate them as much as you can. You (in general) shouldn't disobey them. Everyone has to answer his/her own deeds. If they do bad to you, they will be held accountable for that. Just because they are your parents and treat you rough, that doesn't mean Allah won't ask them how they treated their kids. And if you disobey them, you'll have to explain that to Allah as well.

No matter how bad they are, they are our parents who brought us into this world and took care of us when we were unable to take care of ourselves.
