Interesting article. Didnt know Veer Zara had a paki chick fall for an Indian guy, how is that possible, I hope she didnt get gang raped by her clan.
Appears like the kids are gonna revolutionaize India/Pakistan.

Re: Parents moveover Kids takeover

I'm sick of the "muslim girl falls in love with hindu boy" stories....
grrr

Re: Parents moveover Kids takeover

^^ Why sarah a Muslim girl can never fall in love OR a Muslim girl can never fall in love with a non-muslim?

Re: Parents moveover Kids takeover

nuttin wrong wit fallin in love

Re: Parents moveover Kids takeover

You know there is much to be said for falling in love and finding a mate....I'd have applauded this article 2 months shy of 4 years ago.....

but now that I have my boys, I'd just so very much love to have a say in who they marry. I've seen "love marriages" that were doomed to fail before they even began....Parents really should be able to have input. I guess the right track to take is to start right now....teaching them what is desirable and what is not, maybe in that way I will be able to influence and steer them away from personality types that would be bad for them. I will do my mama-best not to interfere but this is a tough thing.

There’s nothing wrong with having a say about who ur kids marry. You get to have an opinion on where they go to college, what kind of car they’re gonna buy, so why shouldn’t you make urself be heard when it comes to one fo the biggest decisions of their lives? And it’s ur job as a mother to influence ur boys and steer them away from the greedy nasty b1tches they may come across later in life. Parental influence is fine, but the ultimate choice is the person getting married. Its when parents decide to force their child (usually daughter) into marrying someone they dont’ want to that’s not a good thing.

This may be off topic but whenever the topic of marriage comes up this is one incident that jumps to my mind: one of my cousins in Pak got married. Everything was so rushed. She had never even seen/spoken to him since they got engaged three months ago. The day of the barat, she was upstairs in the bride’s room, whenthe barat arrived. Those who were up with her were looking from the window, and she quitely whispered to me “Woh payara hai?” That had to be one of hte saddest things i ever heard…the biggest decision of ur life and u don’t even know what he looks like..

Re: Parents moveover Kids takeover

...and this poor girl is supposed to ride off and have sex with this guy??? OMG, i just cant imagine....

Re: Parents moveover Kids takeover

Hahahhaha yup
she begged me for information about what would happen on the wedding night (apparently they're not even taught that much in pakistani high schools).....she found out though ....i hear they're pretty happy now

Re: Parents moveover Kids takeover

lol!!! welll my my that says MUCH for the husband! Its funny how things are so different between the cultures.....i mean, we have one thread going about casual sex (shich usually happens in US) and then this one where the bride has to have sex with someone she never met before.....

Re: Parents moveover Kids takeover

They're both on the extreme ends of the spectrum. Howver, i've heard of the casual sex thing spreading in pak as well. I've heard stories about how easily they put out now....i've yet to see anything like that so who knows if its rumors or what
