Unfortunately in Pakistan, being Islamic has become equivalent to strict purdah only.

For many people, "no burqah = no morality=no Islam". ------ (equation 1)

The hypocrisy is that people who lament lack of Islam (read, lack of strick purdah/burqah) in the society are the ones who would be ogling severely any woman they find without Islam (see equation 1 above). The hypocrisy part is here is that they admit that ogling a woman is itself an unIslamic act.

I really dont think this is true. There should be something more to it. How did the dad find out that the girl was looking at the boy and not at anything else. Unfortunately it has become a fashion now to belittle Islam. :smack::mad:. This should be stopped. I do not have a solution but somehow…

Most of these ‘honor killings’ have nothing to do with religion. It is related to our culture and traditions (however barbaric they might be). How do you explainhonor killings in India if it was related to religion? It is the culture of this region where we consider women as ‘property’.

I agree with kaka, the honor killings are as common in north India as they are in Pakistan. More to do with culture than religion.

yes it might be culture. But in Pakistan its justified through religion. When they kill women for their alleged 'impurity' they refer to Islamic punishment of stoning to death. Due to this it is difficult to stop it.

ummmmm... Not really. The justification, if it can called that, is normally that the girl brought 'dishonor' to the family.

Guess what, first cousin of our dear foreign minister has been accused of doing the same to a girl. Nothing Islamic about him, the act or his family.

There were no cases of a girl getting killed for wanting education either. If the "moderates" like Imran and Nawaz continue to tolerate Talibanic extremism then those days are also not far when stoning to death would be a common sight. Just like it happened in Afghanistan.

If some of these girls are given such treatments then we can bet that the society will get rid of all such immoral actions as looking at a na-mehram.

No we don't behead the kafirs of Pakistan because they are our responsibility and we are supposed to be their protectors under shariah. We only don't give them daroo, don't let them be homos because in that way they will molest little boys and that's against the human rights, isn't it?
