For those of you who live abroad and your parents live in Pakistan; how do you see supporting them in their old age ?
Did they move abroad with you ? It might be difficult for them to come and settle abroad with you in this age.

Re: Parents in Pakistan
We want them to live with us but sometimes they don't want to :(.
Re: Parents in Pakistan
My inlaws are in Pak and my FIL has retired. My husband sends him money every month. I have two devars and a nand who still live with them so I don't think they'll wanna come live here. They came to visit us but FIL didn't like it here.

Yeah, that is the case with us. We are trying to encourage them to visit us more frequently and hopefully they change their mind. :--)

That works out well for your husband since his brother is in Pak but if you are the only son and abroad then it is a tough situation.
Re: Parents in Pakistan
it really does become a major concern.....especially since many elders find life abroad to be very suffocating.....
Re: Parents in Pakistan
my bhabhi's parents lived and worked in Canada until they retired then they moved back to India where they have their own life. they spend about 5 months here in Canada every year...bhabhi's mom is in early 70's while father is in late 70's and they are both in good health so they prefer it that way...here, in the west, the life is so boring for seniors from India and Pakistan [particularly]...elderly people find the life back home more liveable. my bhabhi's parents, however, plan to live in Canada in a couple of year's time when they may be more frail to travel.
