It all depends on the kind of grooming your parents give you, and its always easier for guys relative to girls. But in our family its not really considered a big deal to be in showbiz. One of my not-so-distant aunts is a major, major television actress, she's known to be a thorough professional. Another aunt is a famous singer, her niece is one of the top models/host/actress in Karachi, married and raising a family. And then a second cousin is also a host/actress in Karachi who has recently started to make waves on the video and tellie scene. Another very close aunt was one of the first television announcers on PTV before she left and settled abroad.
Its not all that bad as its made out to be, your reputation is basically in your own hands.
It also helps that you're coming from a well-off/affluent background so that you don't have to resort to tactics that others do to get in. Ofcourse there are all sorts of people in the industry, but you can manage it all with the right professional attitude. All in all, not as bad as its made out to be, specially in Karachi.
